If he says no then just draft a QB and start Brock for his last contractual year. Rook starts next year.

I just can't imagine many teams are lining up to reset the QB market on Brock Purdy.

The draft QB selection is a dumpster fire, especially with Allar having returned to school.

You'll see teams fighting each other over Cousins and Darnold like bears fighting over a salmon because of it.

There are QBs with worse lines doing more. This is a tired excuse. To be clear I don't think our OL is great. But it's not even in the bottom half of the league

Tackles have been largely fine, right guard has been good, center and left guard have been a dumpster fire and rank at the very bottom of the NFL. If 2/3rds of your interior are pretty much turnstiles, that's a major issue.

On the plus side, it's entirely fixable in a single offseason if they actually prioritize it.

Your limited by play calling as well. How much read option have we seen? How about screens this year?

How many snaps under center?

All of these things could help when your line is in shambles... It requires altering the gameplan though to tailor to the players you have...

OL play is bad across the league. There are maybe 2 teams with 5 good linemen across the board. Every other team has issues at least somewhere on the ol

Not saying ol play hasn't contributed to the problems but again, other QBs are dealing with worse lines and doing more.
A great QB elevates his team when everything isn't perfect around him. He doesn't elevate anyone. He cannot carry a team if he doesn't have The Avengers carrying him.

I would rather start over than pay Purdy 60M a year.

Its hard to do worse than Brendel and Banks have played this year.

And Purdy still hasn't been as terrible as some are claiming. It was a rough season, he has an opportunity to bounce back next year, hopefully with better blocking in front of him.

Our offense seems to operate on headhunting the long ball. It's been discussed multiple times purdy tends to scan downfield first back to the shorter reads. This was praised as good and the opposite of Jimmy.

The problem is when your options downfield for the deep ball are slow ass questionable hands deebo, old slow kittle, slow ass Jennings, and a rookie who can't even line up right, the deep pass is going to have some trouble. Throw in turn style brendel and it's going to be a struggle.

Since you don't really have a deep threat and haven't had a dominant run game we look pretty bad. Purdy especially is going to force picks just because he feels pressure and is locked into deep reads...

This requires coaching and game plan changes. We should be dinking and dunking but it's hard also given the personnel. You need a slot guy to actually win along with Jennings.

Deebo is a shear waste of space... Every look towards him is a waste so that becomes a coaching/personnel hurdle as well.
Obvious goal:
Lose your next 2 games for a Top 10-12 draft pick and pay Purdy the 30 million. If Purdy refuses, bring in Sam Darnold or Kirk Cousins.

Good protection, wide open .. but tipped. These batted balls are happening a lot more frequently

Not, bad faninnorcal. I can dig this, probably the only logical choice.

Another opinion I can agree with. Let's see what transpires here in the coming months.

Great play call too.

Good protection?? Mckivitz gets dog walked into purdys lap ...which is why the ball got tipped.

Plenty of plays were purdys fault today. This one wasnt

I disagree here, freeze it at 12 secs, Mckivitz isn't even in the frame and Purdy's already almost released the ball. Even at 13 sec, the defender isn't even in the frame yet. Looks like the defender anticipated where Purdy was going to throw and jumped in that direction.
