Not saying ol play hasn't contributed to the problems but again, other QBs are dealing with worse lines and doing more.
Its hard to do worse than Brendel and Banks have played this year.
And Purdy still hasn't been as terrible as some are claiming. It was a rough season, he has an opportunity to bounce back next year, hopefully with better blocking in front of him.
Our offense seems to operate on headhunting the long ball. It's been discussed multiple times purdy tends to scan downfield first back to the shorter reads. This was praised as good and the opposite of Jimmy.
The problem is when your options downfield for the deep ball are slow ass questionable hands deebo, old slow kittle, slow ass Jennings, and a rookie who can't even line up right, the deep pass is going to have some trouble. Throw in turn style brendel and it's going to be a struggle.
Since you don't really have a deep threat and haven't had a dominant run game we look pretty bad. Purdy especially is going to force picks just because he feels pressure and is locked into deep reads...
This requires coaching and game plan changes. We should be dinking and dunking but it's hard also given the personnel. You need a slot guy to actually win along with Jennings.
Deebo is a shear waste of space... Every look towards him is a waste so that becomes a coaching/personnel hurdle as well.
