Because if he has a bad game, it opens it up for "insert poster's QB of choice" to be the starter.

Yah the ones that want Jimmy to play again for the 49ers.

Do what now? The ones I see tearing down Purdy are the same ones I saw tearing down Garoppolo. Just look a little higher at 49erRing's post for an example.

Nobody is tearing him down lol.

"Continues his trend of getting a little bit worse each game."

Looks like you've got a story in your mind that you're trying to sell...

That's reality. That's not "tearing him down".

f**ked up reality you live in. Notice the prevailing sentiment from the rest of the forum? You're the outlier here; probably need to check yourself.

A fan forum doesn't live in reality, so that doesn't really say anything. I haven't even said he played bad. He played OK, not great, but not terrible. It was his worst start.

He did just fine, all the overweight people on the couch need to shut the hell up.

Breaking: Brock Purdy is human

In all seriousness though, glad he and the offense had a game like this where they had to win it when the defense was out of character and faltered. That's been one thing many of us had been wanting to see, how he'd perform from behind, under pressure. Maybe it wasn't the prettiest game at times but I'd still say he passed the test as for the most part he stayed poised and made the plays he needed to when they were most needed. Can't ask for more from your 7th round rookie QB.

I don't understand- I thought he played well. He missed a couple but so did literally every QB who played today. Didn't see anything that made me think any less of him.

That's 32.6 points per game, and all of those games have been against teams that are in the playoffs / fighting for the playoffs.... with some of them being very good defenses.

He's really balling out right now.

7th rounder. He can't be a bust. If he got cut in Training Camp he would not have been a justified gamble, not a bust..

The minute they decided to sew his name on the back of an NFL jersey he was a success.

What he is doing now is just fairy tail stuff.

Just go with what you saw. Purdy played great today
The only bad series he had was the one after the interception. He made a couple off throws.

The rest of the time he was scoring tds. We were not even in danger when he had to score at the end of the game. It was not really that close.

He played good. Especially considering we could have been buried in the first half the way the defense was playing. We were in it the entire game and did not have to throw every play in desperation.
Purdy won the game in the last drive of regulation and that´s something that a lot us were expecting to see but Gould missed the FG.

The bad is that he missed several open receivers for big gains however he was calm and poised in the first highly-streesful game of his career and we can see how agressive Kyle is calling plays for BCB.

Stupid post after stupid post. Enjoy the win and watching this dude lead the team into the playoffs. Your bias is making you miss out in a big way.
Still winning

With the exception of the throw right to the defender on the first play that was dropped and the arm punt, it was a good drive.
