Let's be honest. If Brock plays for another team, that team will be 500 or below. The Seahawks organization has already stated they prefer Geno over Brock.

More to it that just the GM's value Purdy at that price. The NFL players union will have some sway in what Brock will be asking for, if he settles for a low dollar contract it could affect other QB's and their contract negotiations in the future. And that is a no no in the players union.

GTFO lol.

Where was the players union when baker took $150M? You can't force the league to overpay for someone just because.

Where was the players union when Brady took MUCH lower than he should have even though he was the best player in the sport? Even Mahomes took a stupid ass deal that was not favorable for the QB market. Why didn't every single QB get FTGD contracts after the Watson deal?

Zero teams wanted to draft him less than 3 yrs ago. Now with one great season and one bad one he's worth $250M? Theres gonna gotta be a middle ground there imo
You can use Garapolo as the perfect example for Brock. Before Jimmy got injured he was on the trajectory for another Super Bowl game because of the TEAM he was playing for. Brock took over and pretty much carried that trajectory.

Jimmy gets traded to another team and does nothing for that team, gets benched, and has become an NFL backup. This same narrative would hold true for Brock. If we traded him to another team, he would eventually get benched like Jimmy and become his true self - an NFL backup QB.

As if the Seahawks can actually publicly say anything otherwise anyways.

He will get what the 49ers and his agent negotiate and it will be market value, IMO he will not settle for peanuts. And it's not that I think he should or should not get it.

Wut? Folks simply don't think he's worth $250M. Objectively he's not and most people think there isn't any team that gonna pay him that, let alone give up picks for him…you can like Brock and realize he's not in that class of QBs.
one idea here is shut down brock and play dobbs.

Since when is a baker deal peanuts lol? Like I said if he wants Dak money tell him to go look for it like we did with BA. I'll bet money he won't find it. That's determining what market value is. Not saying oh you're a starter you should make more than the next guy

I said shut him down and play Mordeci since he has a strong arm and can get the ball down the field that seems to be the value of a QB here.
Hypothetically, if the Niners released Purdy after this season, which teams do you see would be trying to sign him as a starter and willing to pay him $50M a year? I look at nearly every team and they all have, what they feel, is a better option. Feasibly, only two teams and that would be the Giants and Jets, So I'm not sure where people are getting his market value from, if the market is slim. If the Patriots, in 2010, decided to release Brady, then I think nearly every single team in the league would have tried to sign him except Indy, GB and Saints. (Manning or Luck, Rodgers and Brees).

Jed done broke that up. I think he gets the top value just MO. So Brock is not a top ten QB in this league?

There just seems to be some kind of mental break for some people with the QB contracts and what's being done across the league, like it is somehow unfathomable or impossible to go against a trend.

There aren't really even any examples of it working out at least in the context we'd want it to.

there is an order to it. we played allen. let's try dobbs i would say. why did we sign dobbs? let's give him a two game run see what he can do. and you keep purdy from some major injury event. it's a team not just one guy. we play all the RBs, we play all the receivers, let's play all the QBs. let cowing play. let the kids play. that's what you do here. i'd get a new kicker today and give him a 2 week run at the job.
