Yes, we need an upgraded OL. But when your OL is already suspect and your HOF left tackle misses a third of the season, you have issues.

Having to pay him $250m will absolutely diminish this team's ability to continue to put a stacked roster together. What are we even talking about here. Our starting QB made $900K last yr. Yeah the team was great in 2023 lol.

this is something that absolutely affect this team in the next 2 or so years. Thats a fact

Good OL and decent weapons cost money.

I want to make it clear I don't hate Brock and I got no problem with him being the guy for a couple yrs. Investing $250M is a horrible idea and shouldn't be on the table at all.

We can still build a team dude. I see teams doing it right now. We did it after paying Jimmy. The only reason you should be fussing is if you don't believe in John and Kyle's ability to draft and rebuild this team, because that's where it's going to need to be done anyways

First of all, him signing an extension will have zero bearing on next year. The contract would kick in the year after.

Secondly, we have a ton of older players who's contracts will be off the books by the time the contract kicks in (Trent, Hargrave, Ward, etc.)

Third, our team has been planning for Brock's pay increase for over a year now. We currently have $50M+ in capspace for next year.

I am not interested in this hypothetical fear that we wont be able to afford players in future years that you seem to be presenting as fact. Its not a fact.

Oh.....and again......He will NOT be seeing all of this imaginary $250M figure you keep bringing up. No one ever does. Contracts get restructured ALL THE TIME.

The irony of this year is that when we had an elite healthy roster the past 2 years, there was the great debate whether or not Brock was a game manager or game changer. The experiment was set forth when that elite team was taken away from Brock this year and it was therefore proven he is a game manager.

This flat out was not happening. There were only a small handful of people who were not on board. People are prisoners of the moment. There's no need to make things up.

Not happening here perhaps, but it absolutely was happening everywhere else. That poster didn't specify the webzone.

I mean....if you want to say people like Nick Wright were debating this, sure.

JTO was questioning it as well. The conversation was being had everywhere. You don't have to give it validity, or pretend it was just hot take artists, to understand it was happening.

Not a great look in my opinion to downplay its existence when they are arguably winning the point.

GTD money will affect next year and the long term aspect of his deal.

yup. and how about he go back to managing the game. meaning avoiding bad turnovers and unnecessary sacks. you hear ppl say the love contract is the comp. ok, that dude has an arm. it's night and day to brock.

How did Brock beat him in the rain?

Well our guys caught the interceptions for one.

The 49ers beat the Packers. It's a team sport.

Dude it's financially irresponsible to give a contract like that.

that's my point. There isn't a single team in the NFL that would pay him that type or money. Why you think there is or SF should do that is beyond me.

no it absolutely does not make things easier to rebuild their roster and make it magical for our QB that needs an elite roster to make it work

The way he talks it's like these guys are so much better because they can throw the ball harder lol. He'd be drooling over Jamarcus Russel. It's clearly not that much of an advantage when Love couldn't even beat Brock in rainy conditions. Didn't "need" all the avengers like people claim either with Deebo going down

we got clocked this year by green bay now brock did not play that one. would it have mattered? probably not.

last year i think green bay was 9 win. we were the 1 seed. green bay has flown past us. they are rising, we are falling. just hard to saddle up long term and this guy doesn't have much of an arm. i was never an arm talent guy but boy this year is making me rethink that. sometimes you do have to check your premises
