Dude it's financially irresponsible to give a contract like that.

that's my point. There isn't a single team in the NFL that would pay him that type or money. Why you think there is or SF should do that is beyond me.

no it absolutely does not make things easier to rebuild their roster and make it magical for our QB that needs an elite roster to make it work

No it's not. We will have outs if it goes wrong. You just hate Brock. Always have since the moment you realized he might take Treys spot

I share his opinion and would argue mine is even more negative truthfully.

I never liked Lance as a prospect and argued relentlessly with NY along the way.

This is nonsense. You're just trying to embarrass the guy.

last year i think green bay was 9 win. we were the 1 seed. green bay has flown past us. they are rising, we are falling. just hard to saddle up long term and this guy doesn't have much of an arm. i was never an arm talent guy but boy this year is making me rethink that. sometimes you do have to check your premises

GB was good last year too. Beat the Chiefs and the Lions. Brock beat them in the rain without all the avengers. Basically told Jordan Love to shove his strong arm up his ass and go home

Good for you. I don't value your opinion either

Cool. Just pointing out you aren't presenting a sensical argument.

The funniest thing about it is his anti-Brock arguments are shaping up right now.

I mean we can finally all agree on this as the stats and tape don't lie folks.

Purdy just can't lead 4th quarter game winning drives....period. And don't give us oh 2 years ago or last year BS. This year he's 1 of 5 on them...1 of 5!!!! Matter of fact instead of winning the game he's more likely to throw a game sealing INT....

Mid tier QB no doubt. But I am all for running it back with him IF we can address our Oline and get some legit weapons for him. Oh and make him wear sticky gloves in any type of wet weather.

That's it folks...let's get it done.
He did lead us to two important comebacks in the biggest post season games you can have. Can't ignore that and it doesn't erase what happened this year. The bright side is that he's shown he can play better and longer than this down year

Didn't do it in the Super Bowl which is actually the biggest post season came you can have. No Lombardi then it means nothing what he did in the previous two games when combined with his regression this year. He's appears to be just a better version of Jimmy that can run around and scramble.

If he won us the Super Bowl he'd obv be given a pass for this year as we would already KNOW he can win us a title. Since he lost the Super Bowl we don't know and his regression this year makes it incredibly risky to commit to him in terms of years. Give him 55m fine but only guaranteed for two years and we can walk away without any big dead cap hits after the 2026 season and go looking for something better. So the contract must be something that we can get away from in two years or less if he is playing like he has been or worse.

First of all, him signing an extension will have zero bearing on next year. The contract would kick in the year after.

Secondly, we have a ton of older players who's contracts will be off the books by the time the contract kicks in (Trent, Hargrave, Ward, etc.)

Third, our team has been planning for Brock's pay increase for over a year now. We currently have $50M+ in capspace for next year.

I am not interested in this hypothetical fear that we wont be able to afford players in future years that you seem to be presenting as fact. Its not a fact.

Oh.....and again......He will NOT be seeing all of this imaginary $250M figure you keep bringing up. No one ever does. Contracts get restructured ALL THE TIME.

You gotta replace those players, that's how it works. That cost money all the same. Acting like having someone who's dependent of everyone else being good around him eating up a massive part of the cap space as a great plan is silly.

You restructure QB contracts IF they're playing well.

why are you so pro pay Brock whatever the f**k he wants? I'm all for a fair deal that allows easy outs and lets the team get proven talent and resign who they need too.

No his hate definitely stems from Trey days. Brock hasn't had a great year, but it's also not as bad as the haters are making it out to be. He's been okay this year considering the circumstance

Yes, and most of the time, when a large amount of players need to be replaced, they are replaced with the draft and free agents, not just free agents. The only one who is acting like Brock is dependent on everyone else being good is you. Brock is having a mediocre season with a plethora of things that went wrong. He isnt having a "s**t" season like you have repeatedly claimed.

And yeah you restructure him or you get rid of him. Point is, almost zero QBs play out the entirety of the contract. You continue to harp on paying him $250M but reality is he wont be seeing that unless he is really good....and even then he will get restructured before seeing that whole contract.

I am not "so pro Brock that I would pay him whatever the f**k he wants." I never said give him whatever he wants. You are making that up. I am just not naive to believe we should offer him a Baker sized deal and expect him to be ok with that. He is 24. He has had more success than any NFL QB in history apart from Mahomes in his first 2.5 years.

NY has said as much himself. He's arguing he shouldn't be paid at the top of the market. Try and keep up.

how come his passes have zero on them? he's just out there soft tossing all game. and we want to act like this is all good or normal? that final pass to the flat is a pick 6 dropped. it's terrible.

One year in a s**t situation is not how the contract is decided. It's based on their belief in him going forward

hate to break it to you but at a certain level throwing the football is pretty mandatory at the position, unless you are in fact, tim tebow. his arm is regressing year over year. that's a convo if anyone wishes to have it. he's throwing very soft this season. i'd figure that out before you pony up the mega millions.
