QB Brock Purdy Thread

I was mentioning where we'd want to have Brock on that chart. Obviously we are on the lower end of the separation measurement and Brock is middle of the pack ish in accuracy.

Right, but we root for the team. So the best possible result for our offense is to have our guy plotted as close to that top right corner as we can. It says our qb is accurate, and our wrs are getting separation.

Except on go routes

I wouldn't stand on that wobbly stool, you should wait for the 22

I'm sorry your feelings were hurt because you followed the hot take artists in trying to jump to conclusions on a play where you couldn't see 50% of it from the TV view.

Aiyuk only had one decent game this year with Brock before the hospital ball against KC.

I've seen you use the term hospital ball multiple times lately and I am 100% convinced you don't know what it means.

brock has some major red flags. as i watch him this year he has no zip on any of his passes. the final pass vs MIA is a lil flat or out route and it should be housed the other way cuz it's just a soft toss. passes downfield hang like that one to rick. and in conditions he just struggles including struggling for 3 quarters of a playoff game. we nearly got walked off as the 1 seed by a 9 win team. teams are adjusting to what he does well and i don't see a ton of counter up our sleeves. sure he will be better with cmc and BA, but so would any functional QB. his soft tosses have nothing to do with cmc and BA out, he's just not putting anything on em.

LOL

I've been screaming this from the roof tops all season. The WR's and receiving threats that we have were all drafted for Jimmy to match Kyle's zone beating route combinations. We do not have (and have never had under Kyle) the type of WR's who can get open against man and/or in situations where we have to pass (coming from behind). We now have a QB that can do the latter, but are seriously lacking the weapons to go along with him.

FAR easier to find WR's/weapons that fit Purdy than it is to find a QB with arm talent like Josh Allen. Build the team around Purdy and his instincts, athleticism, anticipation, and accuracy.

Ehh I agree with this to an extent. Brock was excellent against man coverage last season. The difference was Aiyuk didn't play this year. When your best WR against man is out, your 2nd best receiver (who isn't great against man) is now being covered by the other teams best corner. So Aiyuks injury effectively made Brock lose his best 2 WRs when going against man.

Brock didn't just forget how to play against man. His numbers against man fell off a cliff this year, and I don't believe people truly grasp how big of a loss Aiyuk was.

I am 44 years old. I was a fan of Montana, Young and Garapolo.

I was never really a fan of Kaepernick because I did not like his passing. I'm not really a fan of Brock as he seems to be an average passer.

But I'm hoping if we can keep him at a low cost, we can build elite players around him so we can still win a Super Bowl with his game managing capabilities.

How you could be a fan of Jimmy and not Purdy is pretty amazing. Purdy is leaps and bounds a better passer than Jimmy (one read and panic/happy feet) G

Agreed.

Yes my feelings are hurt to see a qb making these mistakes again and again.

But this is not about that, it's the double standard of believing a chart and not having to wait for the "22" for actual evidence

Agreed. Need different WR's for that. Although Jennings is good at catching without much separation.

Pearsall can and does. Just needs to learn a very complicated offense.
Paraag Marathe will toy with this kid and his agent

If they don't come to terms, nothing getting signed, BP / agent can sit a Tundra and stew

When you buy into film analysis that says a LT whiffing on his man should not be counted as pressure, you will inherently be wrong in your analysis
