The contracts "force" them to.
They can hold out the entire year, but then that gives the team an extra contract year, so.....
....you can blame this kinda contract stuff on the NFLPA maybe. Not the 49ers.
I know they can I am saying it will not happen.

I don't think it's hopeless with Brock. I want to see him with most of the weapons healthy again. That's why I say play him on his existing contract next year then you can decide. I just don't think it's smart to throw caution to the wind and extend now. It's not necessary.
Why is it so difficult for you and others to comprehend that he isnt going to play for 900k next year?

Got nothing to do with contract negotiation between Brock and the team. Unless Brock wants it to.

- Toyota: Purdy has a lucrative endorsement deal with Toyota.
- Alaska Airlines: Purdy has a partnership with Alaska Airlines and has been featured in an ad for the airline.
- Buffalo Wild Wings: Purdy has partnered with the restaurant chain Buffalo Wild Wings.
- Adidas: Purdy partners with Adidas for cleats and sneakers.
- Ariat: Purdy leads western and work apparel brand Ariat for boots.
Purdy's growing popularity and marketability make him a sought-after figure for brands, particularly those targeting young sports fans. He's also an investor behind plant-based energy drink company, Yerbaé.

You talked about how he will not risk getting hurt. Can you please shed light on his other options outside of taking less money?

This isn't Jimmy G where you make a decision after 5 games and then he immediately ghosts everybody. I trust them in this situation. They've spent 3 years with him
Definitely agree they have shown the ability to quickly correct. That's why when they inevitably sign Brock this offseason it will hopefully be with outs that allow them to correct as painlessly as possible should it become necessary.
There will be a way out of the contract if he doesn't perform, no doubt about it
A way out? Like the $60M+ dead cap hit in 2026 for Love. You can't give out huge contracts without losing somewhere to get out of them .
As far as building an elite team around Purdy, the FO hit on only 9 of 25 picks in rounds 1-3. My confidence isn't too high on them in the draft.
Yes but parag is good at making it less painful than 60 mil dead cap lol he'll figure it out. If they can't draft to save their lives that's their problem not Brock's

All quarterbacks have guys drop balls or have plays called back on penalty. Unfortunately he hasn't overcome that this year. He hasn't been clutch, and to make matters worse -- and the most disturbing thing for me personally -- is that a lot of Brock's awful plays had nothing to do with the guys around him, rather just indefensible mental mistakes.
He's still super young, and I won't give up all hope, but it's hard not to have lost a lot of faith. The positive is his escape ability is amazing at times, he can create something out of nothing. Now if he can just pair that with more consistently good decisions, he'll be great going forward.
A nice honest post, need more of these in here at times.
Also some of us 'naysayers' don't hate Purdy, as many assume in their posts. We just want a little more proof going forward that he is worth $60M
He was much more willing to make excuses and give 2nd chances out to Trey. His post might not be as truthful as you think

Don't forget his partnership with that one seed company, Pioneer...and he is also the qb of JD..John Deere. I think he also partnered with a hydration sports drink company- Recover 180. Oh, and Applebee's. Basically, this dude is smart to take advantage of every opportunity as possible rn. Also, doesn't get paid squat in the NFL..so far. But that will change soon 💰
