Also, I'd love for you to elaborate on these "indefensible mental mistakes" he has made.

Dude he's missing more reads/not seeing the field as well, his footwork and processing has taken a step back, which has lead to inaccuracies.

Absolutely the players around him have helped lead to success and hurt him this year.

his TT shows he's not seeing the field properly

Folks are saying Brock just might need a better roster around him a little bit more than some of the other highly paid guys in the league. Why is that so far fetched?

Loved watching Cam Ward with a completely new team this year. Didn't miss a step because this stuff is his strength,...damn near processes everything early it seems. Not sure it'll fully translate to the pros yet but he will be drafted very early and it wont be because of his physical gifts.

People that only want to talk about other positions are just trying their hardest to ignore the main current subject.

And for how long? How much GTD? Kirk Cousins who looks like a shell of himself the last 6 weeks? A reclamation project like Zach Wilson or Mac Jones?

It will probably be $50-55M APY and around $170M GTD.

Keep in mind Trevor Lawrence got $200M GTD, Dak got $231M GTD, Hurts got 179M GTD, Goff got 170M GTD, Tua got 167M GTD

I don't think any of those guys are clearly better than Purdy despite a few having better seasons.

This exactly.

You use a guys tweet that isn't down on Brock at all to make a point about how bad Brock has been lol. Why doesn't Kurt Warner see it the same as you?

No way if I were Brock I would play that final year and risk getting hurt and getting zilch after I had already proven what I can do with most of my top players around an NFC title game then a Superbowl.

The contracts "force" them to.

They can hold out the entire year, but then that gives the team an extra contract year, so.....

....you can blame this kinda contract stuff on the NFLPA maybe. Not the 49ers.

I know they can I am saying it will not happen.

You talked about how he will not risk getting hurt. Can you please shed light on his other options outside of taking less money?
Another team may want to deal with him. No one knows what other teams will do no one. Just has no one knows what the 49ers will do for sure. But with the 49ers the chances are highly likely they will do a deal with Brock. I addressed the possibility of the 49ers signing other QB's if Brock were to hold out (which I don't see that happening) earlier in this post.

Another team showing interest in him is a 49ers option,...not a Brock option.

You mentioned the risk of getting not getting hurt. So I'd naturally like to know what his other option is...not what the 9ers options are.

Sorry but I'm not following you. If the 49ers and Brock can't work something out then his option would be another team. But you're saying that would be a 49er option and not a Brock option to decide where he would play if he can't get something done with the 49ers. To think the 49ers would not work some sort of deal with another team for him is not logical. (I feel like I am answering questions that need not be addressed because my stance is he Brock will get signed in a quick and timely manner.)

I just wanted to make sure we are not getting crossed in his "options" while under contract for 1 more year. Let's not blur the lines.

Someone else had it right,...it is the threat of not having said player as you begin your offseason. That alone can cause some stir if you do not have a viable 1-yr option that has some experience.

This is where things get interesting and room is laid out and provided for possibly meeting in the middle. But the cap hits coming in the future from $60M/yr is not in the middle.

Brock got to the SB and NFFC with legit the best roster in football. They had pro-bowlers/all-pros at every single position group.

we gotta keep it real and understand SF can't have a stacked roster like that year after year…especially when you pay the QB the cash he's supposedly gonna ask for. He's gonna have to do better with less at some point.

Like most debates in here the truth is somewhere in the middle. This team didn't have the horses to compete this yr. Brock's inconsistency isn't solely on him…if he's gonna want that Dak contract, he will absolutely need to elevate the talent around him and play better as well.

Give Brock at the very least a good O-line, something better than the 3rd OT starting at LT. And I bet he'd have a much better season even without CMC. Let's face it, Brendel and whatever else they put at LT besides Big Trent of course isn't gonna get this team far. That's all I'm asking is to help Brock see the field.

Lately I've been drafting Wyatt Millum and Nate Ratledge, 1st and 3rd, in next year's draft for us. LT and G, both 6'6, 320 lbs.

I mean he's got some pretty good physical gifts. I haven't watched a ton of him but I feel like there was plenty of turnover worthy plays and some hero ball with him?

Literally he's had that 3 OT starting at LT for half a game.

Brendel stinks, he also stunk last yr. He had basically the same OL last yr. For sure losing Trent is a big deal. Most people in here will agree Moore wasn't some massive liability though. If we gotta have Trent Williams' across the OL for him to be successful, then he ain't worth what he wants. Plain and simple.

I'm with you on building up the trenches on both sides….we gotta keep it real and admit some of Brock's poor play is his own doing because it has been. I got faith in Brock it turn it around next yr. I simply don't agree that we have to pay him whatever he wants.

No, he would miss camp, maybe a game.or two then get paid and come back rusty like Trent and BA.

He isn't as good as Mahomes. Does anyone disagree?

See that's the thing, I've blamed Brock plenty during game day threads, I just don't dwell on it like some do in here. I also blame Shanahan for some of his play calling but lets face it injuries have played a big factor this season. Re-building the trenches next off season will be something to keep an eye on. I don't see Brendel starting next season and I don't see a rookie there either, my bet is Shanahan goes after another veteran.

I have no doubt next season the 49ers will be much better and back in the race to the Super Bowl. 49ers will have over $50 mil in cap space, good amount of draft picks on top of all that an easier schedule due to coming in last place (nah I don't know that lol). But IMO, Brock Purdy will be fine and so will his contract negotiations, which IMO is being blown way outta proportion.

No one ever does when saying a QB got his team to a SB o4 Championship Game.

Too, much for just a solid Qb, don't want just stock. Give me something that comes with a little extra.
