He's a spot starter, just very inconsistent. He's very lucky he found someone, who gave him a second chance.

I don't know, how many times has he done it? They said he had trouble in the rain earlier this year, but I didn't know it was an ongoing thing.

I don't know, how many times has he done it? They said he had trouble in the rain earlier this year, but I didn't know it was an ongoing thing.

We've seen the ball slip out of his hands a couple of times in wet weather, it's not just struggling .

"Any person that's throwing an object in the rain, it makes it wet, the grip isn't as good," Purdy explained. "I think for me it's been more about learning how to change the motion a little bit and throw differently in the rain. You can't just get back there and be as violent as you normally are and the ball can come out and all that kind of stuff. So, it's like, it comes down to sort of learning how to handle those kinds of environments and finding a way to complete the ball, move the chains, stay on the field, put up points, those are all things that you've sort of just got to learn as you go. And so, for me and if I see bad weather for a possibility in a game, I don't freak out or anything. It's just like, all right, how can I be better and learn from games that I've played in those kind of situations or environments. So that's how I look at it and for me I can play in it."

So far, Purdy hasn't found an effective adjustment. Maybe that's because his hands are relatively small for an NFL quarterback. The ball seems to slip out of his hand when it's wet. It even slipped out when he was playing in Minnesota earlier this season simply because the air was humid.

He might want to try wearing a glove on his throwing hand when he plays in the rain.

The grip makes more sense than hand size. His hands are the same size as Mahomes and bigger than Burrow's. Brady's hands were only 1,8" bigger even tough he's at least 4" taller. It's not like comparing Wilson's hands which are about an inch bigger.

The grip and hand size are not separable. Larger hands would mitigate the grip problems given a wet object.

Mahomes and Brock are 2 different people. Their hands are not the same (which includes muscles). Their fingers are not the same. Just some "quick-check" measurement that's very useful, but -- obviously -- some people will exaggerate.

To suggest that no other human on Earth with Mahomes' hand measurements should have problems gripping a ball since Mahomes -- a super-human -- does okay with it,...is just illogical.

Even given to be different humans with different hand anatomay and different muscles, they don't even grip the ball the same way(141 vs 132?):

Not contributing to arguments nor is the thought rarely even in my mind but the the first time I watched the video of Brock gifting the OL, when he first opens the door, I can't recall what position but it popped into my head, damn those are small hands. I had no preconceived fresh thought to think this. It just struck me. I might see in wet conditions could be a problem.

Then with the OL walking out, damn your short

Brock defended Kittle. Unfortunately, Kittle missed 2 of our biggest games this season at Rams and home Seattle. He could have played but thought we had the games already won being 7 point favorites in each. Not clutch like other players like Kelce who rarely miss games for their team. And if he truly did have a sore hamstring he should not have been vacationing with Brock in Idaho over the bye but resting. He missed the most important game of the season at home against Seattle 2 weeks later.
