#49ers Brock Purdy said he will undergo MRI on Tuesday on his surgically repaired elbow. "Doesn't feel the best. ... My arm was on fire. Tried throwing couple on sideline and couldn't. ... Did tests with UCL but it was good in that regard."

You're on the SS Kyle, which is going nowhere. All of the former players who review film think he sucks. All of your precious "weapons" around Brock are nearing irrelevance/retirement.
Those are nice strawman arguments you have there. You'll learn from this hopefully.

Yep and he has already had it once. He doesn't have the arm to spare he's not Josh Allen walking around with a cannon attached to his shoulder. Purdy's arm strength is already subpar.
If he has another Tommy John, he's done in the NFL
He never had Tommy John
He had a different kind of ucl repair
It was a hybrid. It is the new Tommy John. More advanced and supposed to be a better repair

You know the players have a say in the matter, right? You saw Purdy's face at the end when he couldn't go back in, he was crushed. These guys love each other and play for one another. They call each other "brothers" for a reason.
I agree with you that Purdy is great when he's on but stop pretending that he's perfect and doesn't make mistakes. Those were both bad INT's. Injured or not. He also made some spectacular throws and had a perfect passer rating up until the INT. So his ceiling is really high but there is admittedly a floor lower than the top QB's because he can't rely on physical talent to cover up bad decisions.
All of this has to be weighed with his extension. I believe he's earned $60M/year and in 2-3 years that won't even be top 10 money. But Purdy would be REALLY wise to accept $50M to $55M and include an out for the team. Make it fair for both sides but err on the team side. Gamble on himself. That would allow the Niners to keep and sign more playmakers and rebuild the defense. Win a Super Bowl, THEN get his big pay day.
If he goes for max money now he can probably leverage the team and get it. But his teammates and coaches might be sour, and many fans will be pissed. Expectations will be through the roof. See Brandon Aiyuk getting booed as an example. I just really hope he's smart enough to avoid this.
WHAT?
No. No they don't have a say in the matter. The coaches and the coaches alone control who plays. They can consult the players, but it's up to the head coach to decide whether or not he wants to listen to anything the player tells him.
Brock last year was damn near perfect. He NEVER made throws even remotely similar to those in any game last year, not counting the rainfest vs. the Packers in the playoffs. For all we know the elbow was already starting to act up then.
When Brock missed a deep ball last year, it was always overthrown. This year he has underthrown every deep ball since he hit the deep post the Jennings vs. the Patriots. That is not something that happens when a QB isn't injured.
Same thing with going from being money on the outs to hanging ball after ball inside, or throwing balls way over the head of guys 2 yards away from him. His accuracy isn't even the caliber of a starter this season. Josh Dobbs looked better than Brock when he came in, albeit in garbage time.
You can't be serious. Have you ever played tackle football before? And it's the NFL, these guys are professionals. Of course they have a say. Acting like the coaches can just play a guy who's injured without their consent and desire to play. Lol nonsense.

Not at all. You have flat-out said you think this team was loaded with amazeballs skill guys and that Kyle has a QB friendly system. Neither of those things is true.

Doesn't matter what procedure. He has to get his UCL done again his career is over.
I can't think of any NFL QB who came back after needing 2 UCL repairs.

Are you incapable of reading or something?
I'm talking about the fact they can BENCH a guy without their consent. You think they're FORCED to play them?
My criticism of Kyle is that he is ALLOWING Brock and Warner to play when they're injured.

We just got confirmation that he has been injured all year long (well, since the Vikings game at least). That was a completely uneventful hit and he couldn't even grip the ball. It's his elbow.
The first interception was pure inability to control the ball thanks to the elbow.
The second pick he was simply late on the throw, but who knows how the elbow affects his time to release.
The fact Kyle Shanahan continued playing him is a fireable offense.
