Yes 2 mistakes that cost them the game.

Easy to put all the blame on the qb. Not forcing one single punt and giving up 40 points cost us the game. Jake moody leaving 7 total points out there didn't help. Kyle abandoning the run game cost us the game. Purdy deserves his share of the blame but wake up. We gave up 40 points.

Kyle also abandoning his misdirection and screen plays didn't help either.

Completely abandoned the run as well. Almost like they were testing Brock.

This criticism really only applies to two drives in the 4th, one of which started with a sack on 1st down. So we can complain that he didn't call a run on that 1st down, but it's not surprising he passed on 2nd and 3rd and long.

Defense did nothing. No stops. No punts. No turnovers. But he cost them the game? 3 passing TDs, 1 elite rushing TD, nearly 400 yards. Even with two picks that should be enough. Purdy has to be perfect every game. He can't do it by himself every week. He was doing it by himself for three quarters. Would be nice if the defense showed up.

Defense stopped them on 4th down? Defense held them to a FG on two drives. Our defense was doing better than theirs until the picks started. Those picks changed the momentum and we never recovered.

Thank god we stopped them on that 4th down. It's way easier to outscore 40 points than 47. Good job D!

Brock is the best player on offense, he should be throwing all the time imo.

the 2nd is a classic brock problem or red flag. he's lobbing with anticipation into what he feels is open space. he floats it out there, it give the D time to react as it's in the air. so he plays fast mentally yet the pass is slow, lobbed, or floated. also they are gonna pack that middle if that's his heat map of where he throws. i recall a lot oh jimmy likes the middle, well now brock does. what is up with that?

They both lack the arm talent to throw deep or outside the numbers with efficiency. Kyle compromises by having most his pass plays go over the middle.

Defenses have figured this out. Even Bellichek said it on the Manning cast. He said SF is a throw middle team, pack the middle. Kyle doesn't adjust.

We had 2 runs in the 2nd half. Not just the 4th Q. What's your explanation there

We finally have a franchise qb and Wel never even see his peak potential because Hel get knocked out of every other season injured since this front office doesn't believe in the O line. Already happend once an we just saw the second time in only a few years. Waste of time. If I'm purdy I'm requesting a trade to a team that will get me pass protection

What do you mean? It's likely that Brock was more successful in the first half than 2nd half because of the balanced offense. There was no mix of run plays the entire 2nd half. They bit on every play action, because there was actually a threat to run in the 1st half

Your post says defense got no stops. They did stop them at least once on downs so thats basically a turnover and held them to two fgs on two drives. This is also against the #1/2 offense in the league. So you're wrong here. The defense wasn't great at all, but they did more than their share compared to Detriots defense until those picks from Purdy came. Detroits defense didn't stop us at all the game until the pick from Purdy and changed the whole momentum, so please stop it.

Look at the actual sequence of plays, lol. Two of those drives killed any chance of running the ball because of what happened on 1st down. Like I mentioned, we can complain that he called passes on those 1st downs and then b***h about the final sequence before Moody missed the FG on drive 3. Outside of that, it's not a very strong criticism outside of just looking at the numbers on paper, free of context.

Are we really going to blame Kyle when he calls a pass on 1st down with a hot QB on possession 2, gets a guy open, and the QB sails it over his head for an easy pick? We shouldn't. And we also shouldn't blame Kyle for calling passes when we are behind the chains, exampled on possession 4.

you are correct. gotta evaluate each unit on it's own. this is the brock thread. you can't look at clean pocket picks and say well what about the defense? or what about moody? that's other threads. brock did well just had a couple he would like to have back.
