He is a good QB and you need a good QB to win, but you can't strip down the roster like Buffalo and KC and expect to win. Either way they are going to go through roster turnover with aging stars and high priced players that are coming back from injury that may not be the same.

Where do I stand, I stand to wait and see instead of panicking like most of the people on here. People act like he's gonna be paid a fully guaranteed contract with no clauses to protect the team.
I mean we can finally agree on Purdy not being good when game is on the line in 4th quarter, he has zero clutch DNA in his body. He is much more likely to throw a game losing INT than not. That book is written now, the film doesn't lie, and it's settled there is no argument to be made. I don't have to pull up his 4th quarter stats when 9ers need to pull ahead or win, that ship has sailed.

So the question is do you want to dish our 60+ million for that? Probably not folks. $45mil and call it a day. Enough of the BS now.

Thank god, doesn't sound like an ulnar issue. He just looked scared at the time, that had me worried. Thank god we might have averted the worst. Thanks, SanDiego.

lol that's literally what I said and the doc backed it up.

Who could blame him for being scared when his surgically repaired elbow felt like fire etc.

He said it was his whole arm, so everything could have been an issue.

Yes and that sensation can happen. I just recently got tmj in my left jaw and it radiates through my entire arm and neck. Yeah I was thinking I was having a damn heart attack lol. But it subsided after a week etc. (suck getting older!)

let's hope it was just that and he's fine otherwise we're f**ked.

it's an interesting negotiation. i think both sides can 'win'. i would be surprised if any team wants to pay major dollars for brock. i don't think a team like vegas would even want brock. these losing outfits want to draft a QB or pursue one with more tools.

Purdy is Hella accurate, though. I'd rather have an average arm that is accurate, than a bazooka that is wild.

You can win with Purdy but you will need some talent around him. Guys like Deebo, CMC, TW, BA, Bosa squeezing every last dime out of the organization doesnt help and if Brock tries the same thing, he will not be successful. Those guys did him no favours.

A lot of QBs have a high completion percentage this year. Purdy is like 15th or 16th out of QBs that played over 10 games or something.

I remember when that number used to be lower but now it seems like all QBs are completing passes at a higher rate. The rule changes are helping in that department

He never had arm strength. Like that's not even debatable at this pt. His super power is processing and anticipation.

my wife is a DPT, I ask her about this s**t all the time.

Don't believe me how about a real doctors take

He didn't injure it ON the hit. It is already injured and this triggered the pain.

Again, what even is this? Why would you want to START a QB who plays that way?

A QB who does that is not the guy. You don't pay him anything more than backup money to be a backup.

He did some good things but his arm is below average. Multiple times we had guys open and his noodle arm either caused a more difficult catch or allowed defender to make up ground. This isn't something you can improve to the degree you'd need to. Bummer

The long pass to Pearsall who was wide open down the sideline was one example of the difference between a QB with a great arm and an average arm. Pearsall had to slow down and the defender was able to tackle him. A QB like Allen, Burrow or Mahomes puts the ball more in front or gets the ball there quicker and Pearsall scores. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of strong armed QBs that can also play the position well. Still teams keep drafting these workout wonders and hope they can teach them how to play in the NFL. Some do but so many teams rush these guys in before they have a chance to learn that we see a lot of busts. Teams used to draft a QB and let him sit for 2 or 3 years before they threw him to the wolves. Now it's gewt him in as soon as possible so we can take advantage of his low rookie salary.

Burrow doesnt have arm strength like the other two you mention. Elite AF either way.

Burrow is one of the best deep ball throwers in the league. He knows how to get the ball out in front so the receiver can catch it in stride.

Purdy knows he has it good here. He won't ask for the moon. They'll come to a happy medium.

Complete nonsense. Talent around QBs has nothing to do with anything. Fan-created myth. QBs depend on their system. Period. That's it. Screenbo is an ATROCIOUS WR. Not a talent. Gadget guy who mails it in. Horrible fit for Brock.

that is how i am seeing it. purdy can get his real contract and it can be team friendly also.

He also delt with a sore throwing shoulder this season which could lead to loss of velocity and over compromising other parts of the elbow/shoulder
