Of course I did. But that doesnt address anything of what I said. If we gave Brock the $250M that you have been so staunchly against, why couldnt that be "fluffed up with make believe bloated cap hits that have no GTD cash with it" too?

I literally said go ahead and do that lol. So no you didn't read it.

The talk is about what Dak got paid. That is NOT fluffed up money at all. In no world should he be getting a deal like that.

The point is not that you just agreed it would be fine, its that you have taken a hard stance for weeks against doing just that. Makes zero sense for you to all of a sudden have flipped (or maybe a lightbulb just came on?).

We're getting to the point on this forum where Purdy is actually becoming underrated. Interesting times!

I bet a poll of webzone posters* would show otherwise.

Well, its 100% hypothetical, so I dont know. Would Brock be better with a front line #1 WR, a good offensive line and a good running game? I would say yes, but its a totally unprovable hypothetical. All I know is what he is here, and what he is here is a top 10 QB. I honestly dont care what he could be elsewhere.

Any QB is gonna be better with all that….thing is when you get PAID like everyone thinks he wants to be, that's not always feasible. We're acting like Brock was the only QB capable to do what he did last yr with that roster and coaching staff.

What's the point of tossing out TL then? He doesn't have any of that stuff and you're talking about how much he stinks.

Who is acting like that? Certainly not me. But he absolutely elevated this team. And if you want to say other QBs are capable of doing what he did, a) thats completely hypothetical and b) how are we supposed to acquire said players?

i don't know how he elevated the team. we were a SB window team before brock. you think Trent got elevated by brock? more like the other way around right? brock played a role in our success, and sometimes it's the NFL hasn't really seen the book on brock, or how kyle uses CMC fully and so forth. but guys like trent and cmc are established HOF type guys. if there was elevating i say it's more on those guys lifting up brock. darnold probably goes off in 2023 here, like he's doing now in a great situation over there.

now we may be done elevating here, as trent is getting old and cmc is injured and that may have been a special year.
I guarantee if Brock was offered 30 million to stay with 49'ers and his agent advised him to make more with another team, Brock would be smart enough to choose to stay with 49'ers and turn down the advice of his agent.

Jimmy G would have done the same but did not have a choice and became an NFL backup QB.

I think like Baker if Lawrence played on a different team he would be better. Can you say the same thing about Brock?

I think so with the offensive line we rolled out in front of Brock this year.
Is it me or did this guy's decision making got more questionable as the season went on...

Crazy thing is his INT #s are similar to last year but it just FELT worse this year...
How Brock played at home against division opponents AZ, Seattle and Rams was super below average. His play alone cost us those games at home.

He's been pressing and hero balling more since midseason as the offense continued to struggle.

The INTs have happened at more inopportune times (when behind / in close games / in 2nd half rather than with sizeable leads or earlier in first halfs).

Yes and his interceptions at home in those division games against AZ, Seattle and Rams were brutal, game changing interceptions.

True, though Mason's fumble against AZ was worse than any of those INTs.

So basically he is not worth $50-60 Million
Purdy is Definitely not worth $60 million especially if you can get Cousins and/or Rodgers for a discount rate.

The market is plentiful for QBs this year.

No one is worth that, but it's the going rate for a young starter these days on his second contract. You pay it and then you expect a 25-year-old QB to bounce back and improve on his weak points. Even with those weak points he's been a good QB overall; simply not great like the year before. You look to help him reclaim that greater level of play in 2025 and beyond.

Getting Cousins/Rodgers who are on the cusp of retirement and have had arguably worse struggles this year is beyond short-sighted.

Cousins is still a better QB than Purdy.

We should have got Kirk Cousins a couple of years ago and instead of giving up 3 first round picks (inc the pick that got Dallas Mich Parsons) for Trey Lance and we would have at least one more Superbowl trophy in our trophy cabinet.
