QB Brock Purdy Thread

The STUPID post floating around that Brock = Jimmy doesn't account for several things.

* 15 games. Missed 1 with injury. Won't play the last one.
* Entire team is injured. Once in 15 - 20 years catastrophic injuries.
* The injuries are the key guys.

So no it's not the same.

Just saying, if you also look at their stats with CMC (Jimmy had 8 full games with him?) - their numbers are a lot better, but also, almost identical :P

Jimmy had the full cast in all games. He also got to ride the initial wrinkles CMC brought. Brock lost Deebo in his first start and dudes have been in and out ever since

I mean, that's more luck than anything. If Brock hurts his UCL week 3 he's out for the year. If Jimmy tears his ACL end of the year he doesn't miss a whole season.

that graphic is a bit lame. SF was 2nd in the NFL in cap space on IR this yr. 2021 our team wasn't as talent (on paper). That was the Deebo yr. It was that weird off season where Jimmy practiced by himself basically the whole off season as well. Jimmy didn't start every game either

anyone who watches the games knows Brock is better than Jimmy. He's also not one of those top of the league elite QBs either. He's for sure more baker than he is burrow.

this is 2021 numbers. there was no cmc. BA had yet to break out. our backs were eli and wilson. i think mostert was RB1 and he went down opening game.

Yeah mostert was out the whole yr basically. That was the Deebo season.

Read the post I replied to. He was talking about Jimmy with cmc
Jimmy and his continual dump passes. Did they work in Vegas?

What kind of respect has each gained from their peers?

I looked up Jimmy's career accolades and all I found is that he won 2 Superbowls.

Has he ever even been selected to a Pro Bowl? I dont think so,...but I know Brock was a Pro Bowl selection last year.

He received the 3rd-most votes for the All-Pro team as well as a QB.

Maybe someone can share what Jimmy's been recognized for, because I can only find college stuff.

Brock is better than Jimmy. Silly debate imo
Brock is better than trash can but is starting to show similar faults. The farther he separates himself from Jimmy play the better. That jumping up and throwing, floating passes and most damaging phantom passes that end up as interceptions. That crap has to stop. We can't afford another Jimmy ending. Please dear lord let him continue to be better.

When Brock starts trying to knock the wind out of LBs with the ball every week, we'll know he's gone full Jimmy

we nearly made the SB in 2021. i think this tweet is coming up due to the stats being strikingly similar or very close to one another.

Yeah he's better than Jimmy by the eye test for sure. Others posted the rushing and rushing TD's and Jimmy won't give you that. So he's already better than that. Scrambing and buying time to throw, playing off schedule, scrambling for yards and TD's is Brock. His whole team is hurt and all the key guys. So IMO this year is tough to evaluate.

I mean he's doing that with safeties instead of LBers. Brock is better and it's silly that it's debatable BUT he's not heading in the right direction
