I don't think they can officially offer him a contract extension until the new league year starts in March, per the CBA.

Remember when everyone freaked out that the 49ers made Jimmy Garoppolo the highest paid player ever? Within 2.5 years was like 15th in QB salary. The market continually resets, so whatever you give your guy now will only be crazy money for a short while. It's just the cost of being relevant in the NFL.

We aren't going to contend on a yearly basis without a good QB who has continuity in this offense. Stop worrying about dollar figures and just secure a young, fast processing QB for the future. Successful QB's in the NFL need two things. A fast processing mind, and tons of reps. If you can get enough looks at defenses you start recognizing everything.

Brock having growing pains is normal. Defenses adjusted to his film, and hes in the process of adjusting back. Just because he hasn't been flawless doesn't mean he isn't a franchise guy.
Soon Brock will be

All of this.

I am not here to talk about you or other posters, or Jimmy or Stafford.

You'd show up over and over without cause to remind us of how Jimmy is so much better than Stafford (drafted #1 Overall),...lol.

It is brought up because now you're trying to play the same game with Brock and Mayfield (#1 Overall again).

Doesnt this shtick get old at some point? Who is really better isin't even the point,...it's showing up on the forum over and over to try and push the agenda. So again,...you tried that with Stafford/Jimmy,...and u now want to avoid talking about it as much as possible. #FindSomethingNew

I think it'll be done by February.

I hope you are correct. But I am going to wait and make sure things are all clear. I know how adamant Brock is about playing for his teammates regardless if they are first string or second
We all know John and kyle were up front with the CMC injury. (Wink Wink)

Those are completely separate injures though. Not everything is equal. Brock's injury happened right in front of us. This wasn't some debilitating thing they progressively got worse dude to overtraining and playing though stuff.

We all saw when it happened and how. He hit is ulnar nerve. The symptoms he had and how he reacted to it, is exactly what happens when you hit that nerve. I can't imagine it's some massive long term injury that will affect him next yr

When Stat Paddy throws nothing but screens and averages 4.2 air yards per attempt, he's "taking what the defense gives him," even when that results in average offensive production despite playing in the most QB friendly offense to ever exist.

But when Brock is top 2 in air yards per completion in consecutive years, we need to bash him because players run after the catch when he does it....even though Stat Paddy's receivers have averaged more yards after the catch this season than Brock's, and they were close last year.

When Brock wins 3 super bowls and is clutch in the 4th qr in the biggest games consistently, than you can talk about those two in the same sentence.

Your statement just doesn't make sense to me. He didn't have great WRs while you also believe he had a fringe top 10 WR and two others in the top 30. That is a very strong WR room. One of the best in the league. Maybe a handful of teams at best had better.

And I'm sorry, but no team in today's NFL has the gluttony of weapons the 49ers had in 22 and 23, when you include TEs and RBs. Maybe you could argue Philly this season has a comparable group.

There's a lot of hypocrisy and extremes to defend narratives in here.

Our QB is elite BUT he needs to have a loaded roster to play well. We NEED amazing pass catchers BUT everyone will have a meltdown if we spend a bunch of money on them/draft one early lol. Constant hate about BA and paying him, then b***hing about not having receivers when he's hurt. They want brock locked into one of the largest contacts in football AND also want to have the space jam monstars surrounding him…but don't want to spend money or picks to make that happen

This is all straw man. We'd like to have better receivers and line, but we saw last year we don't NEED amazing receivers and line

Tbf, trades/contracts are often announced in January/February before coming official in March.

Still a ridiculous comment though. It'll be several weeks at the very least.
Would be so York to throw 60m at the last pick in the draft with a pop gun arm, who can't hit a receiver in stride past 25 yards to save his life. Brock had the best most disruptive fu$&ing player in the league behind him, in a scheme that had every player in place that it needed. If the 49ers had a 50-60m dollar qb and a real HC they'd be in the playoffs right now.

last year it was the best LT in the game, shanny on the playsheet, mvp level RB, Kittle, BA breaking out, deebo, jennings, and on it goes

how do you look at that LT and those playmakers and say 'meh'
