There's a lot of hypocrisy and extremes to defend narratives in here.
Our QB is elite BUT he needs to have a loaded roster to play well. We NEED amazing pass catchers BUT everyone will have a meltdown if we spend a bunch of money on them/draft one early lol. Constant hate about BA and paying him, then b***hing about not having receivers when he's hurt. They want brock locked into one of the largest contacts in football AND also want to have the space jam monstars surrounding him…but don't want to spend money or picks to make that happen
Elite.. but only as good as the people around him lol...
I am in my 50s and have seen a ton of college and NFL football overt he last 45-ish years.... When someone is successful, I always ask my self what does he do that is so different then all the rest?
One of the most common answers is the players situation
I really think there are FEW players that could not put up good to great numbers in a good situation. Hell...the best time to "judge" someone place in history is when the situation is not really good.
Heck in most cases a players legacy really comes down to 10-20 plays over their career. It is super rare when you see someone like Jerry Rice that just mud stomps their contemporaries.
What I think Brock has that is unique is his mindset. I really think Brock is about 3/4ths of a young Brett Farve. He has alot of that gunslinger in him, just does not have Farve's arm. There has not been alot of dude that will press the ball deep, and not be a turnover machine.
Brock has real value, but like alot of QBs....no...a better word is...most...like most QBs, he needs help.
I hope this team, gets him the best line they can, and let the WR/RBs. be by committee in the future.
I think NY is being very fair. Brock is special, but at this point in his career...he needs more help than the top 5 QBs in this league. Sure he can match their production in the right situation...hell he could possibly pull a Brees and lead the league in the right situation...but right now he needs that "situation" more then some other QBs.
