-In 2024 he wasn't surrounded by an All-Pro offense and the play-calling was less than stellar and the results were trash because he isn't good enough to overcome those hurdles because he is not a top 5 or even a top 10 QB.

Brock can't play in the rain, he missed a ton of reads and he has had 3 injuries in his already below average arm.

Harsh reality is that 20 or 25 starting QB's would have done what Brock did in 2023 and I'd like to know how many teams would pay Brock top money right now.

Heck the offense got +400 total yards with freaking Josh Dobbs and a bunch of backups!!!!!

I know that Brock is gonna get paid a lot because that's what teams do when they have an average QB and there's nothing I can do about it.

Welcome to QB-purgatory

And Brock Passed for 377 yards vs Detroit with a make shift O-line. Stop talking nonsense.

Those numbers (the 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 yard plus passes) include YAC, fyi.

how ever you might feel right now is just right now.

With last years line and this years line, there isn't a QB who would be able to put up the numbers or even win as many games as we did. That is the biggest factor that Brock brings. To act and compare him to QB who have doubled his career season wise is not really seeing how special this kid is. He still hasn't played 3 seasons worth of games yet and he has 4 major playoff wins which some vet QB crumble at the thought of playing in a playoff game.

Once we sure up the line and players get healthy he will be fine

This is a bad take.

He was top 10 with all the injuries this year.

Lol the funniest thing I find about these takes is that you think some average QB can come in a run shanahans system. It's the most complicated dangerous scheme in the NFL with so many passes over the middle.

QBs literally can't change the play at the line.

The only way any QB will ever succeed is by mastering going through the reads at superhuman speed. Ie the thing that Brock is the best at. Even if physically he was average which he's not. He's one of the quickest QBs in the NFL both in the head and first few steps.

The scheme limits shanahans QB choices to like 4-5 starters in the NFL and there not even the top 4/5 QBs. If they can't grasp every play and make it through the reads insanely quick they will do nothing but throw picks over the middle.

Everybody thinks it's QB friendly but it's a landmine of complicated layered timing throws over the middle.

The only thing friendly about it is that the throws are 90% over the middle. Which also makes it highly dangerous and turnover prone.

Yet Jimmy Garoppolo had a better winning percentage that Brock has.

Jimmy freaking Garoppolo.

That's the only good reply to that post.

Translation: he's not showing up to mini camp/training camp without a new deal. Nowhere in the interview does he say he won't hold out. And he doesn't say that because he 100% WILL hold out. I'm confident he won't be "unprofessional" like aiyuk but he will hold out if he has to

This is the crux of the statement. Anything beyond that is reading too much into what is effectively a cookie cutter answer to the question. It doesn't indicate whether he'd take a discount or hold out if the team lowballs him.
Is Brock Purdy even better than Jimmy Garoppolo?
