Look what happened to him, I'm sure he will be fine BUT in this sport you could be done at any moment and he just came off an elite season. End of the day both sides were at fault, that shouldn't be debated. There is a clear correlation between SF and how they pay their guys (lack of urgency). Let's stop that s**t. Get it done and focus on other stuff. No more media frenzy off season drama.
I'm sure Purdy isn't gonna be a diva about it, he isn't gonna take the first offer and he will absolutely sit out. His agent is part of this and it's a f**k TON of money. He's a good christian boy who says all the right stuff…no different than someone like Kirk cousins and his contracts negotiations have always been way harder than his persona would like you to think.
we will see

Aiyuk was dogs**t for the most part, 1 game over 50 yards out of 7 played. That's what disappointed me.

We have so many problems that Purdy isn't even in our your 10 issues.

The pass pro was atrocious and the run blocking much worse. Too many times we couldn't even convert a second or third and short running the ball and that has rarely happened in years past.
Brendel cost us at least 2-3 games (Moody 3-4 games as well). Just addition by subtraction. Do it Shanny!!!! Upgrade at C and K and we are looking at competing for a bye week next year with that cake schedule. Let's just hope we don't have the worst rest advantage in the league again.
OL was bad both years

It will be a problem when SF is paying him 50 million a year for slightly above average QB play and has a depleted roster.

I'm on the somewhat opposite side of this. The moment a guy holds out he should be done with the org. People 100% know that our FO will cave if they don't show up. It has happened entirely too often (Deebo, BA, TW, Bosa, hell even CMC) and now players know it will work for them and they won't have negative consequences as a result. It's a shame we couldn't ship BA to the Browns and let him rot with that POS organization to remind people there are consequences to deciding you want to be a Diva. Same with TW, he was already under contract and I would have let him sit the year and miss those paychecks while still having the rights. No patience for that garbage.
TW wanted GTD cash. His contract was basically out there. It's no different than a team cutting a player that's still under contract. Should the team wait for the contract to be done before moving on?
How about the team gets its s**t done early for once? Instead p***y footing around with low ball deals that they know the agent/player won't accept? If a player has any sort of leverage they will use it to get more cash. Most players get one real shot to make that money and I don't blame them for trying to get whatever after an amazing season.
If Brock played like he did in 2023 this yr he would have a ton of leverage all the same.

To answer your question, yes... the team should have to pay them if they cut them. That should absolutely cut both ways. I wonder how long it will be before they kill this league with the outrageous prices while trying to put more commercials into things like redzone. The seats are mostly empty on Sundays and the average fan is getting older with young people only watching fantasy style while the nfl goes off the regional lock bs. Those businesses decisions by front offices off the field and players on it will eventually catch up.
Sorry, I clearly needed to rant on that.

The weakest link by the end of 2023 was Mck. Bren wasn't nearly as bad last year compared to this year.
I'm just stating to lump these two O lines as their isn't a difference between the two isn't correct
