Prioritizing pocket play first doesn't indicate a lack of desire for elite physical traits. The combination is what every coach in the NFL wants.
Outside of that Brock has some plus physical talent. It's just not in his throwing arm.
Exactly. You get Brocks progression ability and pocket presence in a Josh Allen physical skillset and you got a HOFer. I don't see one of those available in draft or FA.
I'm starting to realize that guys like Allen and Lamar could never be like Tom and Peyton. Just like Tom and Peyton could never be like Allen or Lamar
Allen and Lamar would have to have their athleticism completely taken away to be like Tom or Peyton. They will always lean into their athleticism in situations where Tom and Peyton had to find other ways. There's pros and cons to both styles, but the Tom and Peyton way isn't necessarily inferior to the unicorns
If you combine Allen and Mannong you have a true generational tlent. Andrew Luck was like that but his career was cut short by injury.
It would be the perfect player, but it's really hard to get as great as Brady in the pocket when you don't have to be. He'd have to completely change the way he plays. It took years for Walsh to rewire Steve, and nobodys doing that with an athletic qb in todays game
Andrew Luck was good, but even he needed excuses when the Colts were falling apart. He wasn't on Mannings level as a passer and he wasn't Allen in the run game either. The Peyton level pocket passer that runs like Lamar when he needs to will probably always just be a fantasy
