What? I quoted the statement....the comparison was to Allen, which I commented on?

Right. He wasnt calling Elway a statue in general. He was calling him a statue compared to Allen. No one thinks Elway was a statue.
Bringing this thread back to the Topic.

Nice throw by Purdy here. Need all of these next year.

Yeah, I think it is a bit of an odd comp.

Clearly it doesn't, as I don't believe he was elite. I'm pretty sure Woo thinks he was a top 5 QB in 23 as well, so there is a disagreement there.

Funny thing is you weren't saying that in 2023.

They are used to diminish the importance of the numbers! Which they 100 percent do, whether Brock is great or not.

When you can lead the league in YPA if you never had a completion past the line of scrimmage, it lets you know that the teammates are skewing those numbers. This is a good thing if you're a 49ers fan, lol.

He barely threw it behind the line of scrimmage, hence that's irrelevant.

Throws behind the line of scrimmage are going to have a huge completion percentage. If nearly all of those are to Screenbo, which they are, they're going to lead to a high yards per attempt average, since that's the entire reason he's still in the league.

On the other hand, Brandon Aiyuk set the yards per attempt record for a wide receiver with 50+ catches (eclipsing John Taylor's record set in 1993), and he wasn't doing it with catches behind the line of scrimmage. He was averaging 12.8 air yards per reception. You don't do that unless your QB is on point.

You're so close to landing on the point. I'm impressed.
