Very true. Brock has many limitations. Which is why he was passed up in the draft. His small size will always be a problem.

They can get it done now but are having reservations. An article today even said the 49'ers are considering drafting Brock's replacement in the draft.

At some point, production and success have to matter. Purdy has been more successful than Herbert, in spite of the fact that you perceive him as bigger, faster and stronger than Brock.

I agree that Stafford is a shade below elite, and at his best, Purdy is not Stafford. But in his prime, Stafford signed the biggest deal in NFL history.

Herbert had a terrible HC until this year. He had abad game yesterday or was it a great game by the ZTexans D. He only had something like 2 INTs all season so he improved greqatly in that area.

Yes Purdy won more but he was on a team with a better HC and better weapons. I just looked at Purdy's stast and they loom good. Ubtil the 4th quartr and especially late in teh quarter. He has more INTs in the last quartr than in the previous 3 combined. It's not all on him but if you're going to give him credit and pay him like a great QB he needs to be able to lead comebacks late instead of throwing INTs.

English please!

and I bet if you looked, most QBs throw their highest number of INTs in the 4th quarter.

Should be zero issue.

Lmao what is the point of bringing Zach Wilson in? You think he would pressure Brock?
You might be blind but doesn't Purdy get hurt!

Sorry my keyboard isn't working well. I haven't got time to look up every QB but I do know that I see a lot of them lead game winning drives in the last 2 minutes. How many have we seen the last 2 teares for the 49ers? We've mostly seen low scoring by the offense and the tem trying to hang on to a lead.

Brock is okay for now since we aren't likely going to find one in the draft that's better. Unless they sign a free agent he's going to be the QB for a few seasons if he doesn't get hurt. Niner fans are going to learn to live with his limitations because he's never going to be much better than what he is now. He already understands the offense and he processes what he sees on the field pretty well. Those are things that some more talented QBs never lern. On the other hand he isn't going to get bigger or faster. His arm isn't going to become like Allen or Mahomes.

Brock hasn't been offered a contract yet so that tells you something. If he was truly "the guy," he would have been offered a contract by now.

Love and Herbert show exactly why you don't pay above average QBs over 40 mill a season

So pay below average QBs $20 mil a season? What's the answer here?

If you're waiting for a Josh Allen to drop into your lap you might be waiting a decade or more. In the meantime you actually have to try to win games.

Thank you. At least I am honest. I will continue to be on these boards as long as the 49'ers keep winning. But you won't see me if they start losing. I'm not going to lie about it. 😊

Silver Lining thread material

Unfortunately the league is in a period where players demand to be paid top dollar when their contract gets redone. The NFLneeds to start making some stands and stop over paying good players like great players. The competition should be settled on the field. Not in the contract.

I doubt Purdy could have stood up against that Texan defense. Constant pressure and ball hawking DBs. Brock could have easily thrown 4 INTs in that situation.

WRONG. He was pressured and plastered vs Dallas over 50% of his dropbacks and did well. Also pressured quite a bit vs. GB and KC. Playoff record 4-1 (I can't count the Philly game) and only 1 INT.

Nice try though.

I think that was the article's author's opinion.

I wouldn't put any weight on that article. Just another rmock draft that's totally meaningless.
You can tell once Purdy gets paid there is going to be an angry ass mob in here all over every throw lol People act like its their money

Wilson isn't any good. You need a dependable backup if you are going to draft someone, which I think they should.
