QB Brock Purdy Thread

It's amazing a great year and a pretty good year. Folks should cool your jets. We hope for that great year again but who knows.just because Sam tanked. Love threw INTs does it make Brock god.

Love Brock but slow your jets. This book is far from completed. Let's revisit XMAS 2025 and see how it's all going.

Nobody said he's a lock for greatness. It's just funny as hell seeing all the arguments to not pay him come crumbling down

If our goal is to be like the Chargers and the Packers, yes.

What other option is there? To be like a non-playoff team?

Wait a min... we're a playoff team?

Most often, yes. Too many injuries this year.
The Chargers and Packers were playoff teams this year.

Should the 49ers move on from Brock or sign him to a contract like the Chargers and Packers did with their FQBs?

We're not a playoff team. Find a new angle.

This team is clearly a playoff caliber team when healthy. That is the reasonable angle.

You didn't say playoff caliber. You said to be like a non-playoff team. We're a non-playoff team.

The caliber of our current team is nothing more than conjecture that will lead to nowhere.

You literally asked if fans wanted the 49ers to be like two playoff teams who signed their FQBs. I say yes.

Because of how other QBs played in the playoffs?
So brock should be paid as much as Herbert because Herbert threw a bunch of INTs in the playoffs? That's the debate now?

No, it's how Brock Purdy has played in the playoffs.

No, he will get paid more than Herbert and Love because that's his market value based on what he has done and his potential.

Only way he doesn't get more is if he take the Brady approach himself.

This.

And those aren't just other QBs. Those are 50+ mil QBs. They're the ones setting the standard

What is his potential? Haven't we seen that alredy? Do you think he's going to get much better? I don't. He is what we've seen. Good but not great. Able to win most games but not a difference maker.

The 49ers were fortunate to get him with that last pick. Getting a guy that had started for 4 years was a big benefit for a coach that has a complex system. Brock was able to pick it up very quickly. That's the good part. The bad is he doesn't hve a high upside. He's not a physical freak that just needs to be coached up. There isn't a lot of things he can improve on. Maybe learning not to force throws lte in games but thats part of his nature. He knows the system as well as he ever will.

The guy that carried us through the biggest nfc championship comeback and makes a lot of off script plays isn't a difference maker and can't get better. Good stuff

"to be like 2 playoff teams" --- this is a lie,...or a "Wooism" as I call them.

I specifically referred to the Chargers and Packers and NO!! We have higher goals than trying to match the quality of the Packers or Chargers.

I didn't see him making a lot of great throws that only he could make. He was efficient but that wasn't just him. It was Kyle's play calling. CMCs all around play. Aiyuk and Kittle. The defense stepping up. It wasn't about Purdy making play after play that left us wondering how he made that throw.

Do you realize there's no throw that only Tom and Joe could make? You're focused on the wrong thing. We won that game in Brock's arm and legs. That's all that matters

And yes, the defense stepped up. Kind of a requirement for every comeback ever made lol
