Because of how other QBs played in the playoffs?

the dude just ain't making any sense. very baffling. pay brock, cuz herbert had a rough time vs houston? i don't get it.

I'm sensing a problem here. Does anybody here REALLY think Love is having a cap hit anywhere near $50M a year??

This is why those that truly want to compare salaries of QBs and how they affect their teams concerm themselves with GTD money and yearly cap hits.

When the deal is done, we are going to go DIRECTLY to these numbers,...lol.

The 49ers were fortunate to get him with that last pick. Getting a guy that had started for 4 years was a big benefit for a coach that has a complex system. Brock was able to pick it up very quickly. That's the good part. The bad is he doesn't hve a high upside. He's not a physical freak that just needs to be coached up. There isn't a lot of things he can improve on. Maybe learning not to force throws lte in games but thats part of his nature. He knows the system as well as he ever will.

He was elite last year. Experience through reps will improve decision making.

He was one of the best deep passers in 2023. He is great on the move. I think his toolset is good.

You're going to have to start saying "2 years ago" @ some point. The clock's ticking.

"to be like 2 playoff teams" --- this is a lie,...or a "Wooism" as I call them.

I specifically referred to the Chargers and Packers and NO!! We have higher goals than trying to match the quality of the Packers or Chargers.

Look who is making it personal again. I just explained my post, why does thst trigger an emotional response and insult from you?

I didn't lie about anything, I explained my perspective. You edited out the previous responses to hide this.

I have no idea what your point is, if ypu have one.

The kid form Indy can make every throw on his knees.

QB Efficiency >>> Arm strength

Can't believe you in here arguing that Brock didn't play a role in the the last 2 playoff runs we've had.

Everyone understands how seasons work.

What is your point here?

My point is we dont want to be like the Chargers or the Packers. Looking at both squads as they are, they're not our template.

49ers are gonna pay brock and that was known a long time ago. i don't think these playoff games have anything to do with it. and it strikes me as a lil rich to say this guy didn't do well in postseason. well that guy made postseason. we just won 6 games. having a bad postseason is better than not making postseason.

Our season is over. The "last year" sauce you add to these posts has expired. Last year for us was 2024 and you now have to say "He was elite 2 seasons ago",... but that doesn't "sound" as great, does it?

Having all time stinkers when you get there isn't that much better.

I never said he didn't play a roll. Of course he did but he wasn't the only reason. If you measure a QB by how good the team does then you must think JG was elite. He took the Niners as far as Brock did and the results were virtually the same. Their stats over the season were very comparable. JG wasn't a top tier QB any more than Brock is.

When I say top tier I'm talking about top 5. If they want to pay Brock the 6th highest salary among QBs then I'm okay with that. There's just nothing that says he shoud be the highest paid. I tired of hearing market value. That's what they put on menus in fancy restaurants. Pay him what he's worth not what some other guy is getting. That's how housing prices ave gotten so inflated.

What should the team do with Brock Purdy? I think they should sign him and it'll cost them about what these other teams paid plus inflation. As you wisely noted, the cap number will be much lower than the average.

the wise play would be let brock negotiate with other clubs, and see what he finds. he may find his market value isn't sky high. after all he was pick 262, and clubs like traits he doesn't really have like size and arm. so we may get a more reasonable deal than ppl think.
Brock getting paid because other QBs played like ass is the worst take I've ever heard.
