We've seen 2 teams (Dallas and Cleveland) get stuck with over paid QBs that hold them back. There may be others but thise are two that come to mind. Because teams only have one decdent QB on their roster, any mistake they make by over paying can ruin the franchise for 3 or 4 years. They get stuck with a guy that gets hurt a lot or just can't get it done.

Are they sure it's not the 9ers are the losers of WildCard weekend because these other expensive QBs s**t the bed? And thus the 9ers have to follow these other teams who, apparently, have overpaid for their QBs?

So are some of these folks celebrating that Brock is gonna get paid? Because that is what it seems like... or celebrating the team they supposedly root for, are about to be in a s**tty situation.

I always say the contract is the real trophy these days. The way the NFL is built today, you better find a legit qb or you're screwed.

Love and Herbert just aren't big game players. Same with Darnold. Not our problem

I'm pretty sure these folks are celebrating that Brock has actually had a lot of postseason success already despite constantly getting downplayed and all these QB's that got crowned as the next GOAT so damn quickly (Love, Herbert, Darnold, etc.) are getting exposed.

Or does everything have to be "49ers bad" for you?

I always say the contract is the real trophy these days. The way the NFL is built today, you better find a legit qb or you're screwed.

Luckily, the option of the franchise tag can buy you time. 🤷🏾‍♂

But Kyle has always been about optics... for example he never likes the idea of the backup QB making more than the starting QB. Which is why he finally accepted Jimmy G back on the team if he took a contract paying him less than the 2nd year QB, Trey Lance.

So Kyle is gonna be all in for overpaying Brock on a long contract...instead of franchise tagging him (even though this would be the best option for the team). At least until Brock bounces back next season. Then it would be worth *overpaying* for him.

Do you truly think there's a ton of teams willing to fork over $200M plus for Brock? I do not. I mean Herbert set records as a rookie and is one of like 4 QBs to have at least 20 TDs each yr. If Brock play like he did a yr ago then yeah he should be getting paid top of the market cash.

I also think if you were to ask 32 GMs who would you rather have Brock or Herbert for the same amount of cash…99% would say Hebert. Honestly I don't see why that's such a taboo thing to say
