And people get emotionally invested in bringing down a qb, hey fair enough, that's being a hater

gonna get real tired every time someone brings up legit criticism and you get all emotional and brand them a 'hater'. you're acting like 'leave britney alone' only with brock.

Brock has been better, but he also hasn't been consistent. I think he played really well in the '22 playoffs. He diced up a bad Seahawks defense, as expected, and then played very smart football against a good defense in the Cowboys who were playing very well in that game.

Last year was really uneven though. He was bad in the Packers game outside of the final drive and the TD play to Kittle, and he wasn't much better for the bulk of the game against Detroit, though he again was good in the clutch (mainly with his legs). He was solid in the Super Bowl.

I think this idea that this weekend helps Brock in actual negotiations is pretty silly. Arguments can be made both ways, and I just don't think the negotiation will look like the various spin arguments (on both sides) you see here.

Look at that an objective rational post.

I'm guessing it would be similar to Jordan Love's deal.

I don't think he's elite, I think he's good. Why is that a bad thing.

It's the typical fan over valuing "their" QB. Then getting all butt hurt if someone doesn't agree…we did this with Alex Smith, Kap, Jimmy and now Brock. it's funny it's ALWAYS the same posters defending "their" QB and taking s**t too personal when not everyone agrees 100%

The next great will always have to break through the Kap and Jimmy stigma. Are you just going to fight against every qb you hate because of those guys? You didn't say that stuff about Trey, who had proven absolutely nothing lol

Trade him to the Seahawks and bring in darnold like everybody wanted.

Let's see how he does on a team with actual talent while we watch darnold try to make it work with CMC a shell of himself at 30, deebo who should be cut, and Trent who probably wants another raise to be worse next year.

At least it will be entertaining and we can get an answer for the purdy sucks crowd..

I bet Brock tears is a new @$$hole repeatedly on the Seahawks.

That's not at all what happened. I called out your double standard

I hear you, but the whole is greater than the sum of the parts etc. Herbert and Love have bigger arms but smaller brains which come playoff time...is kinda obvious and important lol

I think he's not elite, but who is? Like 4 qb each generation. He is a tier below that imo. Top 10 QB. He will get paid. No matter how, much someone will b***h.

All I ever said about Lance was I wanted to see him play legit football. Not a couple random games. Brock played so much more football compared to Lance, so rightfully so he looked like he could play sooner. He made Lance expendable on a team that was trying to win asap.

I look at every QB/player individually. I don't hate any of the QBs that played here. I had Kap/Smith jerseys for god sake. I was the first person in here talking about trading for Jimmy (go look it up)

my opinion on players and how they are changes as the play more. I'm not a stubborn fan who thinks someone sucks or is great no matter what.

No I don't think Brock is an elite level QB. I think he's a good starting QB. When you have to pay good starting QBs elite money, that's when s**t gets hairy. SF might never have a complete roster like they had last yr. That was an all-time roster full of pro-bowl/all-pros at every level. He's gonna have to play better than he did this yr to justify the massive deal you think he deserves. In no way or shape does that equal me hating him. It's a conversation and if you can't have that without getting emotional about it cool, if not move on.

Dude you fought your ass off everyday for a player that might already be done in the nfl. Take a seat with your Brock hate

He's not lying about the point of his argument (that he wanted to see Trey play), and so what if he was ultimately wrong about the guy. So was our franchise. The most important point here is what NY highlighted: that we should all be willing to adjust opinion based on new/more information.

Purdy is better than Love or Herbert.

look I like Brock, I think he's a good QB (better than Jimmy for sure). IMO 2023 could have very well been his best season ever though. He should get paid and be the starter going forward. Acting like he's some elite level QB that you could just input anywhere and make that team much better is fantasy talk.
Look at all the QBs right now who are having not so great years.. not all current QBs can carry teams on their own

PM not looking like the MVP anymore and getting carried by Defense and Refs
Love had most of his Starters during the year, then fell off a cliff when they got injured
Herbert, played a cupcake schedule and had the same season as Brock but Herbert playing with all his starters
Baker started great, then fell off when he lost Evans and Godwin. Evans came back and he started doing good again
etc
etc

All QBs need help in some sort of fashion to succeed

Then got QBs like Darnold & jimmy where they do have the help and still can't perform.

no one should look at this season and think this is how it has been or will be

Outside of that playoff game Herbert had 3 INTs all yr. He's regarded as a super smart QB who can process well. So no I don't buy he has a "small brain"

FWIW Brock had a 2.6 INT% while Herbert had a 0.6 INT %

I'm not talking about generational, I'm talking about an elite compared to your peers.

And all you do is deflect…did it again. That's how I know you have nothing to offer and are incapable of having a normal convo

Yup. all he wants to hear is brock is better than burrow and some combination of Montana, Young, Manning and Brady. anything else and you are a 'hater'. it's only natural around contract time to assess what this guy can do well and what this guy is weak at. that's what the club should be doing when assessing his value.
