All I ever said about Lance was I wanted to see him play legit football. Not a couple random games. Brock played so much more football compared to Lance, so rightfully so he looked like he could play sooner. He made Lance expendable on a team that was trying to win asap.

I look at every QB/player individually. I don't hate any of the QBs that played here. I had Kap/Smith jerseys for god sake. I was the first person in here talking about trading for Jimmy (go look it up)

my opinion on players and how they are changes as the play more. I'm not a stubborn fan who thinks someone sucks or is great no matter what.

No I don't think Brock is an elite level QB. I think he's a good starting QB. When you have to pay good starting QBs elite money, that's when s**t gets hairy. SF might never have a complete roster like they had last yr. That was an all-time roster full of pro-bowl/all-pros at every level. He's gonna have to play better than he did last yr to justify the massive deal you think he deserves. In no way or shape does that equal me hating him. It's a conversation and if you can't have that without getting emotional about it cool, if not move on.

Dude you fought your ass off everyday for a player that might already be done in the nfl. Take a seat with your Brock hate

And all you do is deflect…did it again. That's how I know you have nothing to offer and are incapable of having a normal convo

Yup. all he wants to hear is brock is better than burrow and some combination of Montana, Young, Manning and Brady. anything else and you are a 'hater'. it's only natural around contract time to assess what this guy can do well and what this guy is weak at. that's what the club should be doing when assessing his value.

It's the double standard boys. You love some QBs and give them passes when you wouldn't do the same for Brock. You guys are biased against your own qb that's all i was pointing out

For people who are objective about their assessments sure. Not for people who have changed their whole stance on how they rate a QB because it's Brock and not Jimmy.

I just don't buy anything you're selling lol. Your posts tell me everything I need to know

I'm laughing at you cherry picking a yardage statistic that makes our offense look better than it was. You ignored the response to your post yesterday.

I am not cherry picking anything.

Who am I giving a pass too? I think Herbert is a better QB than Brock, most people do. Like that's not some shocking thing if you go outside of a 49ers fan forum.

you can't keep s**t objective and your emotional mechanism is calling me and whomever Brock haters, when I have never said I hate brock, don't pay Brock, or he sucks. Get a grip man.

Trey's not a starter,...never proven to be one. Are we comparing his contract situation or wha??? Cause he's not gonna get a big one.

Come on man, lol, I was arguing with NY every day. Lance played 4 games and wasn't good. He was incredibly raw.

The entire point was his timing didn't line up with the team. That we had a polished player who had QB'd the team to the best offense in the league, or one of them, in his time in '22. That we could play the guy and possibly win the SB now, instead of putting aside that possibility to develop a player with no guarantee for the future.
We all know Purdy will get a huge deal. Just how big is the issue. Over paying for a QB is just as bad as over drafting one that ends up a bust. It's the one position you need to get right whether it's in the draft , free ageny or contract time.

What I don't understand is why these contracts have to be so huge. Players now can hold out and renegotiate if they feel it's necessary. If the Niners pay Brock $30-$40 mil per year and he lights it up the next two seasons he can ask for more. It's likely the team will give him an extension like Mahomes got after winning a SB. The other side of the coin is if they pay him $50 mil per year for 5 years and he doesn't improve or regresses then they're stuck. He's also had one major injury already so we don't know how he's going to hold up. The team takes all the risk.

charlie on a mission to have nonsense trey, jg and brock debates all at once. this is terrible.

Well i knew that wasn't possible after seeing him in like 2 preseason games. Just like our organization knew after seeing him in the nfl, the kid had very little chance of ever even developing. I know you could tell based on your posts when trey was here, but let's not make excuses for those who couldn't

For me, the number doesn't matter as much as the commitment. We all should understand the numbers will be massaged to the benefit of the team. The question for me is how quickly do we have a minimum pain out. 2 years? 3 years? If Brock continues to regress and we can't put a healthy competitive team around him, we might want to look elsewhere eventually.

Should we discuss bringing Mariota in for his tools instead? That's not terrible at all lol

Paraag is pretty good at that kinda thing. I'd expect the team to be protected.
