I hear you, but the whole is greater than the sum of the parts etc. Herbert and Love have bigger arms but smaller brains which come playoff time...is kinda obvious and important lol

I think he's not elite, but who is? Like 4 qb each generation. He is a tier below that imo. Top 10 QB. He will get paid. No matter how, much someone will b***h.

Outside of that playoff game Herbert had 3 INTs all yr. He's regarded as a super smart QB who can process well. So no I don't buy he has a "small brain"

FWIW Brock had a 2.6 INT% while Herbert had a 0.6 INT %

I'm not talking about generational, I'm talking about an elite compared to your peers.

Yes. So Brock is at least as good as Herbert if not better imo. I would say the elite/generational are Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow. After I would say Brock is in the conversation with anyone else.

If Herbert has played for the 49ers in Kyle's system he would be much better than he is now. His physical tools have never rbeen in doubt and he's really smart so I'm sure he could learn Kyle's system. We've seen QBs on the Niners that suffered because of bad coaches. Alex Smith might have had a decent career with a good coach from the start.

While I don't disagree, we can't deal in fantasy. Some argue Kyle limits QB's and they regress etc. I think everyone has a point but for me Brock has been very good. He is a top 10 starter since he took over and he's getting paid. How much? Who knows? I really don't care. That's Lynch's job.

Imagine what Elway or Simms or Marino could've done if Walsh drafted them?

Guess what? Doesn't matter

Purdy is better than Love or Herbert.

Not a single rational football mind would say brock is better than Herbert. I mean you're never gonna have an objective take regarding the 49ers so I'm not gonna go back and forth with you. That's a waste of time.

Jimmy avg the same yards per game on injury riddled team in 2020. He avg more pt per game that yr as well. And we all KNOW Jimmy ain't it.

What's the common denominator? Kyle.

look I like Brock, I think he's a good QB (better than Jimmy for sure). IMO 2023 could have very well been his best season ever though. He should get paid and be the starter going forward. Acting like he's some elite level QB that you could just input anywhere and make that team much better is fantasy talk.

How about at the end of 2023, would most have taken Brock or Herbert?
I am acting like he put elie numbers in 2023. It could be his best season or his 5th best.

Dude he played in like 4 games lol. wtf are you even talking about? Deflect about Lance when NO ONE is talking about it. Typical nonsense.

yeah I'm sure you never made any excuse for Brock when he plays in poor weather. Only one full of s**t in here is you buddy.

Herbert.

Because why? Roster and coaching matter and I would take Herbert here over Brock if I was paying them both the same thing. Most objective posters would.

that also doesn't equal that I think Brock stinks. He's better than a bunch of starters in the league.

No you're just whining about folks not being in love with Brock like you are. I can say he's good and that's still not enough for you apparently.

Just deflecting and pretending I loved so and so.

My posts are being objective and that bothers you. There's more than two options outside of being in love with or hating a player. Sorry if that's hard for you to grasp.
i am coming to realize a lot of ppl probably just watch 49er football. so when you get into takes about lamar jackson they say stuff like, 'oh him.. he sucks, never done anything in playoffs'. and so forth. so they go around thinking brock is better than lamar.

lol you know that's not the way it works here. Either Brock is elite, worth $60 mil per, and better than everyone or you are a hater and hate him. And it's all the same guys that were doing and saying the same s**t about Jimmy before Brock. Rinse and repeat
Lol there is ZERO team that would take Purdy over Herbert. Zero.

They aren't objective. Saying Brock is good isn't enough for me to ignore the rest

You loved Trey (who sucked) and it showed

You don't like Brock (who's good) and it shows

You won't convince me otherwise

yeah like.. did Baltimore even play the NFL's best defense KC last year.. Lamar would have ended KC

My point is the same as it was yesterday. If you think this was a top 5 offense, you're nuts. Yards mean very little, especially when you are one of the worst teams in the NFL at converting those yards into points (like we were).

The team was 4th in Total Offense, thanks to the passing game. I think yards are an good measure of an offense.
The rushing game was pretty average while the passing game was 4th.
The team was an average scoring team for sure and that hurt the team, the team just wasn't great in the Red Zone.

It just doesn't seem all that bad considering we got Nadal from McCaffery, Aiyuk and Williams.

I am optimistic.

There were quite a few QB's who were better than Montana and Brady during the regular season, but what separated them was playing great ball in the playoffs and Super Bowl. Purdy has done that and shown that when the lights get bright, he doesn't shrink. Lamar has not. Neither have Stroud, Love, Herbert, Darnold or any of these other QB's who some of you continue to say you'd take over Purdy. But they are tall and throw it far, and some of you are strangely enamored with that.
There is still a lot of uncertainty with Brock. It's going to take more time to see what happens.
