QB Brock Purdy Thread

Unforunately the RB and WR didn't play this year. Trent Williams wa sthe highest paid tackle before this season. They paid Deebo well and of course JG once was the highest paid QB. This team isn't cheap. I just hope they can sign Brock to a deal that doesn't hurt them long term. Paraag has been good at getting team friendly deals so I hope he can deliver again.

when someone says Jed is cheap i automatically know they have no clue what they are talking about. They just hate Jed bc someone told them it was cool to hate the Yorks back in 2008.

no he's not tall and because of that he's 7th overall in batted balls at the LOS since 2023. We all know the issues when the weather isn't great as well. Thoughts on why?

without question the team did him no favors last yr. We've all talked about the lack of separation. In 2023 he had guys getting open a lot more which in itself makes passing easier. I think he's accurate. I don't think he's an accurate power thrower, which makes those tight window throws you expect the high level guys to make harder for him. According to PFF he ranked 28th in those tight window throws (throws where there is a yard or less of separation between the defender and target).

All in all, in order for Brock to maintain that 2023 level, he's gonna need a damn good roster to ride on….probably a little more than some of the other highly paid QBs. I don't think that's some shocking thing to point out. Once he's gotten paid and those cap hit starting get real, he's gonna have to elevate what he has around him. SF overall is gonna have to draft much better as well.

In 2023?

Yes

i wouldn't hang any hat on 2024 as some measuring stick for Purdy and a lot of other 49ers

Purdy was making a lot of tight window throws in 2022 and 2023 and it's why everyone was loving this kid. Not sure how accurate that opinion is

You didn't answer my question and I have no idea what you even said here.

Like I said, your not obligated to do anything. But it's a business and if you don't give it to him someone else probably will. What that figure would ultimately be, is all a negotiation.

he came in balling, then the book is out on how to defend. that happens to all QBs, and they need to find ways to be successful when the D knows what they do well and how to stop it. understand, this contract negotiation is taking place and he's kinda been figured out. he hasn't yet made that next step to avoid the middle of the field and make teams pay outside the numbers or downfield. i see us forcing throws over the middle all the time, and the D sits on it. it's a red flag.

You undervalue him.

There is zero chance he won't average $50 million per year IMO.

if he gets 50m or some banana deal then we played ourselves, that's all that means. no one else is bidding it up that high.

No one ever bids up QB contracts because they don't hit the FA market.

the point is mahomes can get the big money elsewhere. if kc was lowballing he can say ok i'm done with kc, and his agent could demand a trade, and essentially every NFL team would find the cap space to pay mahomes his asking. imo, brock can't do that. teams wouldn't pay brock the $60m or anything like that.

I think you'd be surprised at what he gets. Real football minds like Gruden Martz and Warner love him. A young qb that is battle tested and has the resume of Brock will catch the attention of somebody

That's f**kin dumb, gee where was this stat at the beginning of the season!!! Funny how people just post out of nowhere s**t to fit their narrative. f**k that Brock Purdy can play and he's shown he can with the best of them. I don't know need no f**kin PFF to tell me about football and never once have I used them to justify anything.

You got real football minds not to mention Drew Brees talking him up, then you got PFF who says otherwise. We watching football or a computer!!!!

Why not, Brock Purdy is basically on par with both of them especially if you're comparing their 2023 seasons. But I won't do that to Burrow so I'll use his 2022 season.

Closet hater just as I suspected.

If Brock had multiple seasons of play like he did in 2023 then yeah you'd have a point. He doesn't but those guys all do.

thay last sentence is clearly a troll comment that I don't need to talk about. Stop being dumb with that stuff

No he wasnt. 12% of his passe were considered tight window in 2023.

Do you think Warner would go on ESPN and blast Brock or any of his teammates? I'm not saying what he's saying isn't true, but acting like a teammate is some objective voice is ridiculous. That's like Jim Harbough trying to tell all of us that AJ Jenkins was gonna be a great WR.

you sound like Lombardi.

He's not obligated to say anything. And there would be no need to go THIS far with his praise.

But you know more than Warner though.

NY has always got to throw in a dig.

he knows his stuff on brock. brock does some things well and he does some things not well. he doesn't really throw the ball well, for example. i see guys every sunday spin it better than brock. brock does have his share of wobblers and ducks. so you pay brock, you just tone it down to a reasonable deal to factor in the good and the bad.

He was asked lol. What he's gonna say. No comment?

Now you're deflecting with the I know more than Warner crap.

everyone said the same s**t about Jimmy. I'm sure you used that as well to tell us how amazing he was
