Detroit could be an example of this model being successful, but they haven't won anything yet.

Man you're struggling. I don't know what he's worth. I'm skeptical (not sure) that he would get a top tier deal. I'd like the team to try and find out instead of negotiate against themselves and against player comps who also didn't test the market.
Has this model worked for other teams?
So you don't know what he'd get? Man you're struggling

BA was a trade, buck was a trade.. which is different
LV is interested in everyone, but intererst doesn't equal paying him what Dak got
What are you talking about? Lamar, BA, and Buck were all trade and sign situations. That would be the SAME scenario. If he's worth the $260M then no team would have a problem trading for him on top of it.
Why would you not want SF to dictate what the market is for him IF he's unwilling to be reasonable in his demands? Why do you think SF has to just pay him whatever he wants? You're arguing with me in favor of overpaying for a QB instead of getting a proper pay scale for him that allows the team to still maintain and improve overall.

I never have, lol. My suggestion has been for the team to do what they can to find his value before they pay him.

How about you do the same All we're doing is having a conversation about it and tossing out all the options.

It's a dumb suggestion. I know if I were in Kyle and John's shoes I'd want to pay this kid. What he's done on 900k, the jobs he potentially saved, the receiver that he got paid
He deserves to be rewarded

that didn't happen to Lamar or Dak like you exampled.. Lamar and Dak didn't get any offers and both of those guys signed for top dollar

You're not having a conversation. You are going around trying to corner people about what Brock would get on the open market when you know it's impossible to answer, and you know we will never find out. Get out of here with that s**t

Baltimore put the non-exclusive tag on Lamar which allowed him to negotiate a contract with other teams so yeah it did happen.
reports said that LV was waiting to see what was happening with Dak and hoped to make a move on him. It was just a report nothing more.

In Lamar's case, he was initially asking for a contract to match Watson's. Thats why the Ravens let him shop around.
His contract ended up being 70 million ish less guaranteed.

I'm tossing out an option and giving my opinion on what I think would happen in that scenario. You're getting all upset about it for whatever reason.
You're running around talking about the market and the only real way to find out what the market would pay him is to do just that.

Yes he does but not so much that they can't add good players around him, Assuming he gets a 4 or 5 year deal the team will look much different. than it now does in 2027, 28 and 29. Williams will be gone. CMC, Deebo and Kittle are likely to be gone. Maybe Aiyuk. Warner is probably retired in 5 seasons. Maybe Bosa too.
The point here is the front office has to be looking pst next year and plannning for the future when a lot of the best players are gone. Maybe they can replace some of them in the draft but how likely is it that they can find another CMC, Bosa or Warner if they're drdting late like they usually do. They'll neede money available to go out and sign some free agents.

Dude I could go around acting all tough about how the Raiders or some team would sign Brock for 60 mil on the open market. It's a dumb conversation to have
