the 2021 class is FA

you bring in fields
you bring in mac
you bring in wilson
you bring in trey

then we see who is least worst

They all have a better arm than Brock, so that should be an automatic upgrade. Right?

it's super unlikely he doesn't come off like that but agents do

No, he could sign the tag and then hold out and demand a trade. I don't think Brock would take kindly to being told he has to play on his current deal.

You have to understand where that thought comes from.

FootballNovice views Brock as the best QB in 2023 'by a landlside', so when he says Brock could return to 2023 form in 25 that's what he means. If he was actually the best QB in football he could have that kind of pull. But he isn't, hasn't been, and never will be.

He can hold out and refuse a new deal at any price from our team.

It's extremely unlikely, but theoretically possible.

No well run team behaves like that.
They'll be smart and sign him for less than they would in a year or two.

What is the point of this post?

You get super triggered by any praise of Purdy.

Purdy was great in 2023 as a second year guy.

i have never been of the arm strength variety, but let me tell you, this last season every ball was a lollipop. it was frustrating. so brock is converting me into an arm strength guy. watch bo nix i mean he can put that ball into orbit. he's very toolsy. with shanny, they want to come up on the line, ok shoot it over the top. but you need the tools for the job.

these are just my opinions, i could be wrong
Purdy can only shine when he is surrounded by an All Pro supporting cast.

If he only has average players around him, he will lose.

that the trade would have to be serious enough where you can lose that player to get a real price

No one has dangled someone who they wanted to keep to another team to screw that player over a few million less

What would you call what we did with BA? The ravens did it when they gave lamar the nonexclusive franchise tag. He could talk to whomever he wanted to get a deal done. They could match it or not.

SF doesn't even have to pay Brock this off season if it comes down to it.

The point of the post is very clear. Purdy was very good in 2023, and I have given him his credit. He's not an elite QB and he never at any point has been the best QB in the league.

He played well no doubt.

DopeyJoe: Rex Ryan, Terry Bradshaw, and Howie Long all compared Brock to Joe Montana in 2023. If he plays like that again, he will indeed have that kind of pull. You're completely clueless.

I also know exactly where you get your idiotic views of Brock from now. You see in J.T. O'Sullivan's film reviews that he turned down the occasional deep corner route in 2023, and think that's somehow noteworthy. It's not.

In the words of Troy Aikman when discussing a play where Jimmy missed a read, "you're not going to see everything you see on film."

Every QB in the league turns down deep throws.

The idea that Brock should have somehow done even BETTER than 9.6 yards per attempt is delusional. Nobody averages 10+ yards per attempt. You'd think Aiyuk and Screenbo are Randy Moss and Terrell Owens with your delusional nonsense.

I'm just explaining the options.

Here you go again with YPA, lol. Dolt gonna dolt.

DopeyJoe: You can't criticize the play of someone who throws for 9.6 yards per attempt unless the team doesn't score in the redzone or the QB has turnover problems. Neither of those things apply to Brock. Hence, the argument that somebody could have done better is delusional, and therefore it's ridiculous to pretend he wasn't the best QB in football last year.

Who was better than him? Before the Ravens game, Stat Paddy Mahomo was further behind Brock in yards per attempt than Ryan Leaf was behind Steve Young in 1998.
