I was speaking to the group of "you" who want to play hardball and say that Purdy has little/no leverage.
In a reply to you I described playing 'hardball' as a gamble. That should have been a clear indication of the belief that Purdy has leverage, let alone the fact at no point did I ever say, or indicate, that he didn't.*

i don't think purdy has much leverage. what's he gonna do, pull a leveon bell? i don't see it.
he wants to get in and play ball. offer the 200m over 5, he will accept and it's a win for both. from 900k to 40,000,000 annual, that's how you know you made it. if you type out all the zeroes, it look bigger.

I'm picturing Purdy's agent printing out Spotrac's projection and slamming it down on a desk in front of Paraag, lol.

I added little. Perhaps I'm wrong and you think Purdy does indeed have leverage. If that's the case then why would you think playing hardball would work?

We don't want to be caught with a long-term contract for a player who is regressing each year since his 1 Superbowl appearance..

Okay so he's not going to accept that, because it's well below QB's who he's much better than. So what is your plan at QB when Purdy holds out? Which FA are you bringing in and/or who are you drafting to replace Purdy?
