I appreciate the post. I never saw it until this AM. I also don't really agree that they are similar as far as the practical totals and cap hits go. Like I said if I'm wrong and Dak had a bunch of cash carrying over, okay. I haven't read that was the case (from what I can find).

It's also worth pointing out that it's mainly dealing with the historical application of the non exclusive franchise tag, which doesn't apply to us this offseason with Brock (and didn't with Aiyuk last season either).

*I should clarify I'm talking about the first post he made in the conversation, with all the details about some of the previous times teams used the tag. Not the dak/love breakdown*

Gotcha that makes sense

biggest contract in club history and ppl laugh at it. i don't get it
he would be the highest paid 49er and one of the top in the NFL

Why wouldn't he get the biggest deal in club history? He is the most important player on the team.

Didnt the same thing happen with Jimmy G-Strings back in 2018m?

this would be the biggest deal. that is what i am saying. no need to mock it. what are we trying to do here? drive our price up to the moon? how about we all put our numbers down, and we can revisit when the time comes?

If you don't know why a 5 yr 205m contact is comical I don't know what to tell you.

You replaced "NEVER" with the bold so no need for me to further comment.

Exactly and then he accuses other people of getting emotional that is so sad. And I see other people arguing with him. He just can't take it. He hates being wrong. He never admits he is wrong and he always name calls with anger, defensiveness, and all the other fun stuff that comes with it. The common denominator is him that's all I will say. It's so Obvious.

anyways back to Brock. He deserves to get paid or structured like Love or Tua or Lawrence, except he is much better

Wouldn't be comical to me. I would love it if Brock signed that deal

That's really not a hard thing to grasp. Yet here I am telling you it yet again. I'm NEVER the one who starts with the personal stuff in here.

disagreeing is totally fine. Disagreeing because you dislike me or think I have some ulterior motive all the time is childish. So I will treat you like a child.

If you can't handle a New Yorker that swears that's not my problem.

Denial

baby steps, let's first start with no name-calling. Disagreeing is fine.

Jimmy reset the market on new cash and AAV. With the team flush with cap space (112M?), they loaded as much money as they could into year 1 to keep the cap hits low in the back end when the team was expected to be more competitive. Paraag said the team would have put more money into year 1, but were limited by the 50/50 rule. edit - The 50/50 rule requires the cap hit of the 2nd year be at least 50% of the first year. Jimmy's cap hits his first two years were 37M and 20M.

Jimmy signed his contract on February 8th. Kirk Cousin's 84M/3 fully guaranteed contract with the Vikings on March 13th would reset the AAV record. Matt Ryan's 150/5 extension with the Falcons on May 3rd would reset the new cash record. After that was a rush on 4 year extensions that pushed AAVs into the low 30s.

edit - A reminder of what Shanahan said at the time
"Everyone wants to talk the numbers. Man, that's what quarterbacks cost. I don't even think about the numbers," Shanahan said. "I look at everything as, 'Is this a top guy? Is this a guy that has a chance to be one of the better guys in the league?' And once you believe that, you do whatever it takes to keep him. And that's what it takes to keep him."

Philadelphia has so many good players, all pros just like us and they were able to sign their quarterback to a humongous deal and keep players as well as re-sign new free agents so we will be able to do the same

If Hurts can rise up and pick it up when the running game is off, they can win it.

i would as well, and that would be coming a long way for sir brock. he'd be one of the highest paid NFL players. i just draw a line at him asking for more AAV than Mahomes among others. if other teams want to be crackheads like whatever cleveland is doing that is their problem. let them be the suckers.

I mean, I shouldn't have said never. I can't claim never, especially having over 100K posts
