Very true. All he has to do is make some easy passes to Brown and Smith and they can win the whole thing. However Hurts is not good at all at passing in the pocket. I'm glad they overpaid him, I feel the same way with Love and Goff. Just a lot easier to beat those teams now. Love it
I think part of the fan base is skeptical of paying brock a substantial amount because they don't believe in Kyle and John hitting on draft picks.
Therefore, we would need to acquire talent via FA and that will become more difficult after paying Brock.
We would need Rams type drafts going forward. (They hit home runs on all their early draft picks) Many fans don't seem so confident in that happening. We believe 2024 was a good draft, but still was not at the level of Rams draft and the impact they've had.

Draft is always a crapshoot tbh, but if you can avoid having terrible ones you should be ok. Pats drafted insane for like 10 years, then the last 10 it simply wasn't nearly as good to bad and they fell off etc.
I say this past season was a reflection of the 20-23 drafts being fairly dismal and now it caught up to them. They need to replicate 24 and for sure need to hit on the higher picks more often. One could argue missing on the earlier picks has been the biggest weakness of the Kyle regime which is odd, because they are damn good just about everywhere else.

Mahomes signed his contract July 6th, 2020. It's been nearly 5 years. Finally is the total cash value of the contract over the total unadjusted league cap total over the life the contract. I'm presuming the year-to-year cap growth of future years is 7%.

NFL Franchise QBs have NFL Franchise QB price tags. These guys are expensive to keep. Purdy is up now. Stroud next year. Daniels in 2027. Allen and Mahomes can redo their deals anytime they want (Allen maybe this year, Mahomes maybe in 2027). Lamar in 2026-27. The carousel of Franchise QB contracts continues to turn.
The QB contract market is essentially 5 tiers at this point. Franchise QB tier (55M+), retiring Franchise QB tier (40-50M), QBs that need to prove themselves (30-45M), journeymen (<20M), and rookie wage scale contracts.

Rams have done well on th d line and nailed Nacua in last two years. Their previous 4 years were mediocre to bad though. Outside of Kinchens however their secondary is bad as are their linebackers. O line is also hit or miss.
End of day having a top QB and a top pass rush can get you into the playoffs. Need the rest of the team to step up to win it.

Will we risk the future of our team if he doesnt like the numbers? Or cut or trade him because we "willl not allow" a guy to fulfill what he signed to?
