I could say Brock had a better season than Mahomes. It doesn't matter if I'm right or wrong. If anyone responds to it, I've struck a convo and therefore that tells you the type of season Brock had. Like, what are we doing here?

you may get lance, you may get mahomes, josh allen, j daniels, or any number of high end round 1 QBs.

And you'd be willing to flip that coin, when you have a known commodity in Purdy? Talk about risky and possibly setting the franchise back...

The numbers. All comes down to the cap numbers.

What does cap numbers have to do with hit rates on drafting quarterbacks?

This is the easiest question I've been asked in awhile. The OP said "Talk about risky."

Well...signing a young QB that hasn't fully proven himself to too high a percentage of your yearly cap that he may not currently deserve is risky as hell as well.

This is where numbers come in. Risk is inherent on both sides....what will move the needle one way or another is the actual numbers.

You cant escape risk in this sport. If things were that easy,...probably half the people that are now fans wouldnt even watch.

Yup. Let's not give credence to bad and/or irrelevant comparisons.

The comparisons we're seeing are career-wise, not "this season."

He certainly did not have a better season than a player like Mahomes' who's team went 15-2,...especially given his woeful performance time after time in games.

If they went 8-9 I'd have to throw this comparison in the trash as well....as he's nowhere near his echelon yet. Doesn't deserve the mention, regardless of who's average numbers slightly look better. There's no conversation to be struck here on this one.

Alex and Darnold are where we're at.

His point was we don't have to draw conclusions about a player from bad comparisons, just because someone decided to make them.

Mahomes/Brock was an example of that.
I talked about our season, though,...not who is better than who (I'd be too depressed to engage in either discussion). So either way, he's still off:

Well now we're having a convo about it. So, the point still stands. Purdy is Mahomes-ian. Pay the man 750M/10yrs!

We aren't. It's over and shut. Meanwhile....39 pages later:

There's no escape from reality bud. We had a rough year and it shows.

That conversation hasn't had any activity in the last hour. It's over and shut. The latest conversation is how Mahomesian Purdy is. That's the reality. Purdy's contract just went up another 100M per year.

Trey and Brock were debated on this forum too. Did that mean Brock was on his level?

I wasn't talking about the last hour tho. I'm talking about the amount of discourse....cause I guess they're really debatable subjects. Woe is us. Hope next year is much better.

On the other thing,...not even entertaining it...lol. #NextSubject

I'm pretty sure there is more Purdy-Mahomes and Purdy-Lance discourse than Purdy-Darnold discourse, even when you include the 2023 season when Darnold was with the team. Anyone remember the Purdy-Montana discourse of 2023?

"We" refers to the team's performance, not who is on who's level. Reread.

What does "Alex and Darnold are where we're at" mean?
