Luckily, the option of the franchise tag can buy you time. ?????????
But Kyle has always been about optics... for example he never likes the idea of the backup QB making more than the starting QB. Which is why he finally accepted Jimmy G back on the team if he took a contract paying him less than the 2nd year QB, Trey Lance.
So Kyle is gonna be all in for overpaying Brock on a long contract...instead of franchise tagging him (even though this would be the best option for the team). At least until Brock bounces back next season. Then it would be worth *overpaying* for him.
Dude, no it isnt. Why people keep saying this is beyond me. It is demonstrating you have no clue what you are talking about.
Like I said before, Brock will not hold out... he will not take the chance of another QB (with full OTA's + Training camp) running this QB friendly offense, with the playmakers we have. So yeah, let him play out 2025. Hell can use the excuse that the reason we have been successful for the past 4 years is because we have QBs on rookie deals.. and Brock is a continuation of that. Then decide to Tag or pay him next year.

Just read article that said 49'ers Insiders are saying 49'ers in no rush to give Brock a deal due to his inconsistent play.
there you go... we'll see.
now before some feel I'm some Brock hater.. I still believe in him, but I don't believe in him under Kyle anymore (enough to pay him $60+mill)... so for me to be convinced I would need to see if Kyle adjusts his offense next year and gives Brock more freedom at the line of scrimmage.
He will NEVER play out his contract without an extension. Nor will our team allow that. You arent living in reality if you think that is going to happen.
Also, saying "there you go" to a poster who just lied about 49ers insiders is just laughable. He didnt read any such article.
Why not? Are you looking at this from Brock Purdy's perspective or from the Organization's perspective? What's best for Brock or what's best for your 49ers?
We have seen on many occasions how the NFL is a business... how teams are a business. What makes Brock so special that the team shouldn't take all options into consideration? For what's best for the team? Especially if Brock's agent asks for $60+ Mill.
Because we see this with virtually every QB who signs a big deal. As soon as the guarantees are complete, QBs renegotiates and gets extended. Gives more guaranteed money, helps the team with the cap. Win win. Happens all the time. And if Purdy isnt living up to the money, we part ways. Its really that simple.
