"big deal" is a relative term you can squirm around with, and even then, you might be exaggerating just a tad:

Dak Prescott (2019)
Jameis Winston (2019)
Deshaun Watson (2020)
Mitch Trubisky (2020)
Lamar Jackson (2022)
Daniel Jones (2022)

To my knowledge, all of these guys played on the final year of their [rookie] deals without an extension in-hand, and 4 of them got major deals.

That's only recent history, too.

So it happens pretty often and is fairly customary if a guy doesn't wanna take what's offered, but no, let's live in our boujee fantasy world where we're better than everyone else and get to spend like the New York Yankees and all the other teams do not.

Lol...it's not the 49ers that "Wont Allow It",...it's him and his agent that WILL NOT ALLOW IT. And good for them.

I don't think we have that much work to do as long as we bring back our core players on offense and defense. But McCaffrey staying healthy is a must.
I have had to accept my limitations as a fan since other people decide things. I thought overtime in super bowl would be decided by who won the coin toss since the deferring team had a clearcut advantage just like they do in college. Both Brock and Kyle messed that all up. There is only so much I can do as a fan unless the 49'ers can somehow allow me to give them advice from my couch

Doesn't matter, defense wins championships

Yes it did, I'm just pointing that out though.

Yes, and I remember thinking that the facemask was going to be a game changing bad call. But Detroit bailed out the refs and Washington with the 12 men on field. I bet Washington would not have converted and Detroit goes on to win. That play by Detroit will go down as one of the big ones in Detroit's agonizing NFL history, along with Dan's refusal against us last year to kick the field goal to go up 17 points midway through the 3rd to pretty much seal the game.

I think Commanders were either 2/2 or 2/3 at that point in 4th down conversions, so it was definitely doable for the Commanders.

Dak Prescott was trying to get paid as a top QB but was not relied upon like a top QB. He hasn't had one season as good as Purdy in 2023, and his first three seasons he was being carried by Ezekiel Elliott.

Jameis Winston lol.

Deshaun Watson was extended by Houston during his rookie contract.

Mitch Trubisky lol.

Lamar Jackson was still transitioning to a pro QB/passer rather than just an athlete throwing the football. A very special case that required extra time for both sides to settle into. Does not apply to Purdy's situation at all.

Daniel Jones lol.

The ONLY one of these that applies to Purdy's situation is Dak. And as many have shown, the Cowboys not extending him during his rookie contract ended up costing them WAY more money, and it's why they're in such a bad cap situation right now.
Has anyone seen Dan Campbell's press conference. To see him break down crying would be the icing on the cake for me

For the 1st three QTRs yes...but offenses are the ones who can put games away by sustaining drives...taking advantage of their possessions and scoring points. Instead of the defense holding on for dear life, and eventually being physically and mentally tired after constantly being on the field late in the game.

You just have to have it on both sides of the ball in almost every case. You don't have to be elite on both sides, but you at least have to take advantage of opportunities when you aren't.
I still can't believe Dan played his starters against us this season. The game was meaningless. How foolish was that. Rest your players for the Vikings game next week. But I will take it. He gave us the loss which gave us better draft position and last place schedule. It only hurt the Lions because we will be healthy and contending next year.
I know you all want Brock to get paid. Don't worry, he will
