The draft. Everyone said the trey lance draft was the best QB draft of all time. 5 QBs in the top 12 was it? I'm not gonna provide sources so challenge me on that if you want to. I don't care. Everyone says this draft is one of the worst. But draft experts are right so many times. Many people thought Jayden Daniels would be a bust and looked past the Washington pick.

But yea, the draft is where you find one. I don't want to be hand-cuffed to Brock the next 3-5 years because of a contract. It's a bad idea, but I'm a Niners fan first. When we pay him I will cheer my a** off for him. But it's not a good idea!

Many people stated their concerns, but the weather thing and not having all the pieces really concern me. We will be dealing with weather and injuries every year. But I digress. We are going to pay him and make him the franchise QB. I'm praying I'm wrong

Who's the next Lamar, Mahomes, Allen, Daniels, at pick 11, or any of our picks in this draft?

Well damn I don't know that. I'm sure Washington didn't expect instant returns from Daniels this year. It's called...keep trying until you find one. I feel like the Niners are settling because of past success.

Rhey arent gonna find a better one than Brock, he is by far the best they have drafted inmover 40 years.
Daniels and Brock both had great starts.
Brock did take the 49ers to a Superbowl in what was really his Rookie year and yet its crickets when it comes to that.

Did we expect immediate returns from Brock? It's been 50 years since Washington has had a HOF qb. It's usually a very long wait. I think we'll be okay giving Brock a shot for a few years lol. And if we see the next great we can still draft him. The Chiefs drafted Mahomes with a qb under contract

Yes that makes me feel better honestly. I think Brock is good. I also think the SB loss and how close we were to winning clouds many peoples brains like we can expect that from here on out. I think he's limited. Won't even go into size but definitely arm strength limited and grip limited in inclement weather. Can we have another special run where everyone stays healthy and hungry throughout the season? Absolutely! I'm just very nervous about giving out an elite level contract for "good" QB play

hear hear. we should negotiate this deal down. he can't run for 10+ TDs a year like all these champ QBs can, he doesn't throw it downfield, or outside the numbers, he has no zip on the ball, everything is over the middle of the field, he struggles in conditions. 300 mil for a limited offense. no thanks.

More complete opposite posts from 2021.

The Eagles offense is the most limited offense in the nfl.

not at the 5 yard line or needing 2-3 yards. the QB is a part of the run game in ways we don't do around here. the question is why don't we do it. well we don't have the QB. but shanny is all about running the football. so why don't we have it?

So we should get a QB who can run even if they can't read a defense and takes untold bad sacks like Hurts does?

The Eagles team is winning in spite of their QB play, not because of it. I saw that movie already for years here. Don't want to go back.

Has there ever been a champ qb that ran for 10+ tds? Or is this just another myth of yours?

Eagles were on the goal line and had to kick a fg because they couldn't punch it in. They won the game because of their running back making two big plays. Nothing to do with the QB at all.

i'd take hurts over brock. he fits what we are trying to do a lot more. if the goal is be physical and dominate the point of attack. if the goal is throw in breaking routes over the middle all day take brock.

He's incapable of reading a defense. That doesn't fit a damn thing.

Allen got stuffed at the goal line and gave Lamar a chance. These guys don't understand the OL is a huge part of what makes this happen. They could run it in with Cook/Davis or Henry. Acting like none of those Tds would be there if Allen didn't punch it in is ignorance

Hurts sucks.

Yes you'd take a lot of QBs over Brock that are worse than him. Congrats

There's one backing up Stafford right now for sure.

The fact that there's even an argument only points out that Brock isn't in that top tier. He's in a group that includes at least 8 or 10 other QBs that could probably perform about the same as him with the 49ers. After the top 5 or 6 guys I see about 10 that are all good enough in the right situation but aren't true franchise QBs. All could be replaced if necessary.

We've discussed Brock's pros and cons many times. He has all ther intangible stuff that isn't measured at the combine. He just doesn't have all the physical stuff. That's what keeps him out of the top tier for most people.
