I really hope you're not trying to pretend Brock is like Goff in this case.
Goff had the type of setup people claimed Brock had last year - dominant run game, terrific WR group and an excellent TE and unlike Brock last year he also had a dominant OL out there with him.
Yet when they put the ball in his hands and that great OL of theirs showed some cracks....Goff delivered a game that would've had people ripping Brock to shreds if he did the same.
Goff turned the ball over twice as many times in this one game alone than Brock has in his 6 playoff games starting.
how is he not like goff? they are both mid tier QBs who pilot loaded Os. with goff you gain some arm, and lose some mobility.
Ever see Brock Purdy perform the way Goff did in the playoffs with the type of situation Goff had? No? Then that answers your question.
Goff has been a known commodity to us for a long time. Great guy, very smart and can make most throws if he has time in the pocket and there's no pressure in his face. Once you get to him a bit and it's not great.
Put Goff behind the 49ers OL last year and see how far you get.
Seriously, they are nothing alike. Brock has flourished under pressure quite a bit (this year not so much), especially when he has to extend plays, avoid sacks and make plays with receivers that get little to no separation.
Goff, on the other hand has been one of the absolute worst quarterbacks under pressure and even outdoors or in away games. He also makes horrible decisions despite being benefited by the best offensive line in football.
if Brock had that team, we would have two Super Bowls right now possibly three
