brock just doesn't have much deep ball. if there's some stat about him having a good deep ball from 2023, i'd point to shanny, our avengers and scheming ppl WAO. some random stat doesn't mean you have a good deep ball. just means the team is hitting a lot of those plays. you can clearly see which QBs can sling that thing downfield well and which can't. it would be like saying steve bono is one of the great QB run threats cuz he ran for 80 yards one time so he's better than vick at running. when i watch what brock does well, yeah i don't think deep ball. not even on the list of things he does well.
Pop gun arm

Dirty get paid yet?
Brocks's lack of arm strength was probably the No 1 reason that he was the last pick in the draft.

yes i didn't see any QB throwing softer tosses last year. so your out routes and deep ball have more time in air and more recovery time given to DBs. he has to play with almost comical anticipation, throwing way before a lot of other QBs. i'm impressed with how fast he plays and how much anticipation he plays with.

Jayden Daniels from the Washington Commanders has shown what you can do if you strike it rich with a great QB pick.

So he is the high bench mark.

Jayden Daniels already has one less play off win than Lamar Jackson.

With the new rules, the NFL is even more a quarterback league

Brock Purdy already has more playoff wins than Jackson.

Other teams know Brock has a "pop gun" arm so the secondary can sit on him on 2nd and 3rd and long.

Plus losing Brandon Aiyuk, meant Purdy lost his no 1 option on downfield plays.

This made it even easier for secondaries to sit on Brock when the 49ers needed longer plays.

• Brock Purdy was a deep-ball specialist in 2023: He finished first in positive EPA rate and threw for 12 touchdowns and 38 first downs on deep throws while recording 19 big-time time throws to only three turnover-worthy plays.

. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
1.048 EPA, 58.8% Positive EPA Rate

Purdy led all quarterbacks in EPA on deep passes, nearly doubling his mark from 2022 (0.547). He finished first in positive EPA rate and threw for 12 touchdowns and 38 first downs on such throws while recording 19 big-time time throws to only three turnover-worthy plays. He also generated a 134.7 passer rating on deep throws, the second-best mark in the league.

this is such a wrong headed view of QB play. every pass completion, it's an OL blocking, it's pass catchers catching, it's a play caller dialing it up to get ppl open. you got one gold jacket blocking and another taking half the d with him, and you want to attribute 100% of the success to brock. guy doesn't have much on his passes, yet he's the greatest at the deep ball. does that make any sense to you?

Lamar Jackson is a bad reference point. Jayden Daniels in his first season is only one play off win behind Lamar Jackson.

I just posted facts.

He has made it as far as Brock made it on his first trip. That is impressive.

conflicts with reality. we can check back in 10 years, and we'll see if brock's career will be known for the deep ball. if you are correct, brock purdy will go down as one of the great deep ball throwers when it is all said and done. i wouldn't mind you being correct. do not see it

That's without having a support cast of All Pros.

Jayden Daniels has done it by himself. Brock had significant help.

Every deep pass stat indicated he was a top deep ball passer in 2023. Only your feels dispute the facts.

I'll be here.

It isn't about me being correct. Facts are facts.
