Hoyer, Beathard, Mullens and Lance aren't good QBs. Groundbreaking stuff.

Donovan McNabb sucked for him too, after doing just fine the year before with Andy Reid.

Nick Wright and Random49er think absolutely any QB can be a "star" playing for the great Kyle Shanahan. They don't actually watch the games. They think Kyle's a genius because his dad is known as a genius, and people transferred that reputation onto him.

McNabb was also at the end of his career and in a new system with a new team for the first time in his career. I'm sure KS would have been successful with him had he had him in his developing and prime years, even if I don't think KS is as good as Reid.

this is kind of a red flag. and i don't buy the 'he was injured' stuff. but i do read many ppl in here say he was off or he lacked the usual zip. that's a major red flag heading into a record type contract.

Numerous injuries to his throwing shoulder would caution me to hold off on signing him for at least one more year.

lol fat mcnabb era
That's literally the last 3 games of the season where Purdy needs to be clutch and has thrown picks to essentially end the game. That's just a fact.

I want him to be the QB, but if he's gonna make 50m+/year, dude needs to be clutch. Otherwise, it's gotta be less to sign other talent.

most of those deals they were able to move the QB.

Broncos got lucky finding their QB the next yr, we all know that's not usually how it goes down.

I mean look at the browns. Currently $30M in the red with no plan at QB. Falcons moved Ryan and still had massive amounts of dead money for a couple yrs.

the Jimmy deal was front loaded because we had a ton of cap space, young talent on rookie deals and no one to really pay at first. I don't really agree there.

im not saying brock's deal is gonna kill this franchise. They can be smart about it though. You're not gonna restructure a deal continuously if they aren't playing well, which is my point. Yes if he stinks (not saying he will) they can move on and eat a massive amount of DM one yr or so.

drafting will be even more important imo

I think both our points have some truth to it. That's all.

Why is it so difficult for you to understand that whenever the time comes when Brock could be restructured to help the cap, he can also be cut if he isnt playing well. You KNOW we wont be giving him a fully guaranteed contract.

You keep saying "this is my point." It's not a good one. At all.

agree

and ppl float these banana contract numbers, we are simply in a bidding war with ourselves.

Well there we have it. No need to clarify what counts as "deep."

Brock Purdy is the best deep ball thrower in HiSTORY. Do not question it!! 🤣

So, you have nothing to counter the assessment?
What do you add here?

we have a whole new year of data points. why aren't we using those? might there be a reason

as with every team that wants to keep their players

It's been countered already. How many times do we have to have repeat arguments that are tangential to the point in the first place?

-Someone says Brock has below average arm strength.
-Person (like you) responds how can he have below average arm strength when he was the best deep passer in football in 2023, and cites certain statistics.
-We argue about misleading statistics.

Rinse and repeat.

Brock 2024: 3,864 yds, 20TDs, 12Ints, 66% completion percentage.

Jimmy 2021: 3,810 yds, 20TDs, 12Ints, 68% completion percentage.

Is Brock real?

The season has been a disappointment overall but I'm still enthusiastic that we have a franchise QB going forward. Excited to watch the kid win big games year after year when they resolve the injuries and defense issues holding the team back.

post the film? did we watch the season? i like the film not the stats. i just find it curious you keep pointing to a career year, and not the recent year. if you want some film, i invite you to watch the final snap of the miami game, and the 31 detroit joseph v brock battle. i think we had this sequence, pick by 31 (negated by penalty), followed by pick by 31.
