Mahomes needs (and has) great talent around him. Would they have won any of their three titles without Chris Jones?

Obviously you have to have some degree of talent but the chiefs have 1 incredible player on D and solid elsewhere. Mahomes has 1 great receivers (Kelce), several decent guys, great interior line and the worst tackle combo in the NFL.
Mahomes dont need much

In all fairness... you werent saying that back then. I know because we argued about it constantly. I mean hindsight's always 20/20.

lol. Dude carried a depleted OL. Still performed great. 4 passing titles? Leave someone with the ability of a Steve Young out of this one.

He never had a depleted OL and the slowest #1 wr in the nfl though. Brock was a pro bowler in his second year with a bad OL and no Jerry rice
And Steve did need extra help. Idk if you were around to see but he didn't win until we stacked the deck for him

Dirty Purdy is my quarterback, but we might have to wait a year to extend him.

Young is saying what I have been saying on here, just in a nicer way. 😊
I mean so does Lamar, Herbert, Goff, Love, Hurts, Burrow and Prescott -- but that doesn't stop them from either 1) getting paid or 2) being talked about as a top QB
This is so silly lol. That can be said for EVERY QB out there. Yes even the elite guys.
Mahomes isn't winning all these games without Kelce, his OL even with the LT issues this year is MUCH better than what Brock had. His defense is WAY better than what Brock had and his special teams shoudnt even be comparable to ours. His literally won him games this year. Ours maybe had 2-3 games where special teams didn't have a critical play that hurt us big time.
Allen may not be playing with big names at the skill positions but his OL is very solid, his running game is very strong and the receivers he does have are solid and a bunch of them have been with him for a while so he can develop chemistry with them.
Look no further than Joe Burrow this year. All those amazing games and monster numbers from
him - missed the playoffs cuz the defense wasn't good.
I don't care what QB you are - Mahomes, Allen, Lamar - you're not performing to your standard and winning a ton of games in a situation Purdy experienced this year. Now maybe they win a couple more games with their ability but it's not a recipe for success for ANY QB.
So I have 0 issue with what Steve said and don't see it as a dig on Brock.

What is this worst tackle combo in the NFL nonsense? Jawaan Taylor is not horrible in any stretch. He just gets a lot of penalties…in the regular season. Dude is a high 2nd round pick who started every game since his rookie season. And we're acting like somehow poor Patrick is playing with worse OT play in the league???
And 1 incredible player? Just because the other guys don't have big name recognition yet doesn't mean that's the case. Justin Reid is a great well rounded safety. Trent McDuffie is a top tier corner. Their linebackers as a unit are very stout. Omenihu, Karlaftis are very good edge guys.
Not to mention the whole Steve Spagnulo coaching them which as we've seen first hand and so did Tom Brady in 2007…that is a pretty significant part of running a good defense.

Honestly when you start getting more weapons around a player like Lamar and Allen, you might start getting diminishing returns. Can they actually drop back and distribute the ball and use all the playmakers? Or is it just the same offense where they're dominating the ball?

This has what to do with the Purdy conversation? You want a pat on the back?
I never said Jimmy was the reason we won those games. I simply said he was doing a good job making key plays.
Brock actually showed last year he can be the reason we win playoff games. Not just a game manager watching the run game put the other team away.
But yes hindsight is 20/20 and having it, nobody in their right mind should be comparing Jimmy and Brock playoff performances.

Steve is my guy but this is true, arguably he should of had more than 1 SB but he wasn't great in the playoffs.

And Peyton Manning needed Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Dallas Clark to win his lone title in Indy. Oh, and on defense, he needed Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, Cato June, Bob Sanders, and Antoine Bethea. Every QB needs help.
