QB Brock Purdy Thread

Give brock all the money, if you think about it, he played just as well as mahomes in the SB!

If he was "good enough" this season 49ers make the playoffs. We all hope he gets back to 2023 Brock.
While he had some bad INTs to lose games, he also had a lot of passes dropped to lose games.

to say what you did is just being petty

Who is being petty? Brock needs to play better.
the entire team was injured and didn't play up to par, to single out one guy is not being genuine

no he's not half the QB as mahomes. that's why KC wins the rings. they have a HOF coach and by far the best QB in today's game. we couldn't touch KC with brock making nothing. now he'll probably out earn patrick.
No way 49ers pay a QB who has been sitting on the couch during the entire playoffs no matter how many injuries we had.

we need to find the next mahomes. that's our shot. or we can play it 'safe' and pay 60m to lose in the end.

Oh yeah what a great idea.
I'm sure the real fans will love those tanking seasons in order to find the second coming of Joe Montana in the draft.

QB is the most important player on the team. Its not being honest to give him a pass.

The 2023 and 2024 seasons were not the same

because he's the most important player, means nothing else that happens outside of him matters?... and you say that is being honest ? lol right

Should the chiefs asks for money back?

They were 15-2 (home-field advantage). Did you happen to watch yesterday?

If they care more about stats than results, sure.

But they have only lost 2 times this year because the dude simply does just enough to win games, time and time again.

A perfect example of why you can toss all of those stats in the garbage come playoff time (if you reached the playoffs) was displayed on the field last nite.

What shows up on game tapes should lead discussions here if we're talking ability. You can then follow that up with anecdotal stats.

Holy s**t man you argue what you want to argue.

The point was extreme for a reason. I've never moved Mahomes off my elite QB rankings and have had him #1 regardless of what was happening this year.

Their TEAM record including the win yesterday involves special teams and defense. The point wasn't that Mahomes isn't an amazing QB, it was that as amazing as he is when there are issues to his offense just like every other QB he's not playing his best football.

This SB matchup is a perfect reminder to people running their mouth about how you can't pay Brock because he's not elite.

There is only one elite QB playing in the SB this season and it's the same one who's been in there almost every year but when...when he lost in OT to Joe Burrow or lost in OT to Tom Brady.

The other team in the SB is loaded across the board and has a QB with limitations. We'll see which team wins but it sure as hell puts a hole in the "you can't get there without an elite QB" stuff.

No, it isn't the same.

Watching a 2-14 team is terrible. 2016 was deplorable crap.

Watching a team make the playoffs but not win the SB is disappointing, but can also be entertaining and exciting along the way. 2011 and 2019 are two of my favorite years for the 49ers. Tons of great memories. Same goes for 2021-2023 and for 2012-2013. I have a lot of great memories of 1990-1998, 2001-2002 as well. Obviously 1994 has the greatest of all those memorable years for me, but it would be dishonest to say all those other years were the same as 2016 or other really down years, because they just weren't. Those down years were so much worse.

it's about the same. look at the bills fans good enough to win but not good enough to win it all they are heartbroken today. you bottom out and ok, that plants the seeds for bosa, buckner, armstead among others. course we didnt win with those guys either. we won't win a ring until we solve the QB position. good enough isn't good enough.
