we need to find the next mahomes. that's our shot. or we can play it 'safe' and pay 60m to lose in the end.
Oh yeah what a great idea.
I'm sure the real fans will love those tank seasons in order to find the second coming of Joe Montana in the draft.
it's all the same. just coming up short one way or another
No, it isn't the same.
Watching a 2-14 team is terrible. 2016 was deplorable crap.
Watching a team make the playoffs but not win the SB is disappointing, but can also be entertaining and exciting along the way. 2011 and 2019 are two of my favorite years for the 49ers. Tons of great memories. Same goes for 2021-2023 and for 2012-2013. I have a lot of great memories of 1990-1998, 2001-2002 as well. Obviously 1994 has the greatest of all those memorable years for me, but it would be dishonest to say all those other years were the same as 2016 or other really down years, because they just weren't. Those down years were so much worse.
it's about the same. look at the bills fans good enough to win but not good enough to win it all they are heartbroken today. you bottom out and ok, that plants the seeds for bosa, buckner, armstead among others. course we didnt win with those guys either. we won't win a ring until we solve the QB position. good enough isn't good enough.
I'd much rather be heartbroken than hopeless.
Being a constant cellar dweller is no fun whatsoever. Losing in the playoffs means you had some good times along the way, and at least had a chance to win it all.
I'll never understand the idea that losing a ton in the regular season is preferable to winning a lot in the regular season and making the playoffs. Sure, you can be more numb to it or ignore it far easier, but there's zero entertainment value, too. If you never make the playoffs you can never win. Are people suggesting the 1960s Niners were preferable to the 2011-2014 and 2019-2023 Niners? That's just dumb.
