Give him unbiased refs and Jake Moody instead of Harrison Butker and let's see how "clutch" he is.

you gotta be able to look at what the QB is doing and not doing independent of the field goal kicker.

Not about to take away credit from Mahomes given what he's been able to accomplish in his career so far but key plays by his defense are absolutely part of why he's considered to be as great as he is.

Eventually as time goes by people forget about those defensive plays and just remember Mahomes won X SBs. They forget the calls or no calls that helped him be that magician.

Seriously? Who cares about the Billls game. He's a magician. They won more one score games in the league then any other team. Give him 50 seconds and he can score. There is no one I'd rather have as a qb if given the choice. He's clutch. Don't give a crap about 2024 stats.

Love Brock but his stats could be twice three times Mahomes. He's not in the same sentence.

Just stop- He's an annoying toad but he's an incredible talent calls or no calls. Brock homers are about as annoying. He's our guy no doubt and who knows, he may be considered Elite some day but one year riding the bench for most of it, one excellent year, and one very average year makes it impossible to classify him long term. Let's hope for Elite Brock long term. I love the guy as a guy. Everything I envision our QB to be..

Hes not ready for the $60m yet. John will prove this if it takes till August.
I'm sure Purdy's agent will put out feelers to see how much interest there would be in Purdy if he was a free agent. There may be some butI doubt many teams would be willing to give him $60 million per year for 5 years. Most wouldn't even go $50 million. His value is higher in Kyle's system than it would be for other teams that are more QB reliant.

This is where you have to be careful if you are correct and I am in the same camp a bit. I think Brock will be here long after Kyle. What would happen when Kyle decides to refresh somewhere else or he decides to retire. What will Brock be. Hopefully awesome.

just look at the film. if you watching film on mahomes, you don't even know what the kicker or the d is doing. if you are rolling what spags and butker are doing into a convo of how good is mahomes, then it's actually a convo on how good are the chiefs. ideally, you assess the player on what he is doing, not on what karlaftis is doing.

Do you even know wtf you're saying when you post stuff like that?

"Look at the film"

...just don't look at the defensive film or special teams film.

Fun thing about Chiefs film these days...they don't ask Mahomes to make a ton of high difficulty throws. Of course he's proven that he can make those throws but the tape you're so excited about shows a talented QB playing on easy mode most of the time.

you can look at special teams all you want, i just don't think it's gonna help you figure out what mahomes does or does not do well.

People have to bring the Queefs' winning into the conversation because Mahomo's performances don't come even close to justifying the hype.

What incredible talent? You can make the argument that having mechanics as horrible as his and still not completely sucking is talent, but then you'd have to say the same thing about Jeff Garcia.

I do agree that most Brock defenders make bad arguments. He was the best QB in football in 2023. He did not play well in 2024.

Are we really going to question Mahomes' talent now? I would like to see him play in a different offense but that's the same thing people say about Purdy so it's hypocritical to harp on that.

Only difference is I'm not saying Purdy is elite and he's a great QB for this offense which is heavily based on timing and anticipation, things that Brock does at a high level.

Kurt Warner is a good listen when it comes to talking about difference in QB play, it's not all one way or the highway situation. You can play good football as a QB in different ways.

Lamar does what he does. Allen plays the position differently, Mahomes is his own guy. But you also have a QB like Jalen Hurts close to another SB title. Purdy last year just needed a defensive stop at the end to beat the great Mahomes and the Chiefs and he was doing it as a 2nd year player behind a weak OL.

We'll find out next weekend whether Hurts can win it playing his game or if Mahomes gets another scalp. I know I'm not picking against the Chiefs until someone beats them with a healthy team and Reid/Spags coaching them.

But back to Brock…saying he didn't play well last year is a bit harsh. He didn't play well based on his own standard set. Just like Mahomes didn't play well based on his own standard set until he was able to get Hopkins via trade and Hollywood Brown came back - suddenly his numbers started going back up.

Every QB even the greats like Mahomes need consistency and talent around them to look their best. For all the crap Brock got this year if the defense holds we are in the playoffs. That's not even getting into the issues we had on the OL with Brendel or CMC being out most of the year and no real consistency at WR with guys missing games, Aiyuk getting hurt after coming back rusty and Pearsall and Cowing being slow to master the offense.

Considering the circumstances we had as an overall team I'm honestly impressed Brock played the way he did. Could've been way worse imo.

I don't think his agent would reach out to other teams while Brock is under contract...and they'd be less likely to respond since that could be considered interference unless the 9ers sign off on it and give permission.

I don't mind giving Brock 60m as long as it's a very long term contract so that 3-4 years in and it is very cap friendly. You could play all kinds of games with it so that it loaded towards the end of the contract which could be voidable. The real question is guaranteed money.

Your preoccupation and hatred of Mahomes is just weird lol. I mean, I get some of the frustration but damn lol. Keep cryin' 'Stat Paddy' while he keeps going to SBs. Cause it's gunna make a difference I am sure lol
