Let's hope for Elite Brock long term. I love the guy as a guy. Everything I envision our QB to be..

Hes not ready for the $60m yet. John will prove this if it takes till August.

Whats annoying about people being ok with Brock getting paid like QBs he compares to?

If you call that annoying, I hope you weren't cool with allowing Trey years to develop for no reason other than draft capital. If you were cool with that, but not cool with Brock getting a similar contract to his peers - you are the annoying one

I admit, I was all in the Trey hype train pre-draft. It was exciting his college film and the kid was so nice, smart, heck of an interview. I don't know what to say about Trey now. Honestly, I don't think he had enough time to develop and then there was his injuries. But that was then.

Today, I still don't buy into next man up like many of you. I don't think John does either and if Brock rocks the top it seems it will be a shorter contract. So annoying is fandom without thinking. Brock is still growing. He is not a finished product. Like it or not. Anyone with some football sense would be able to have a conversation to the fact one partial year, one excellent year and one below average year does not reveal what he will be long term.

so yeah, Mr Annoying put your football beanie on and understand it would not be in the teams best interest to toss a huge contract to him just yet. By the way, love the guy. Hope he's it. Let me see another year to decide. This year should reveal if he leans to great Brock 2023 or okay Brock 2024.

If he were a finished product that wouldn't be good. So I do like that he's not a finished product lol. No qb is after 3 seasons. I see him ranked from 7th to 13th in qb grading metrics. I don't get the point in calling last season below average. He was above average by all the grading scales. Our team just sucks, regardless of his 900k contract

I watched a special on Joe Montana last night. It was a reminder that he had a lot of rough games during the season and even a few bad playoff games. However when it came to the SB he was nearly flawless. The beating he took during his career was amazing. They showed some hits that would get a player disqualified and suspended for at least one game now. Lots of hit around the head. Driving him into the ground. The other thing that stood out was the ballplacement. Time after time they showed passes perfectly thrown so the receiver wouldn't need to break stride. Most of the time he wouldn't even need to reach as the ball settled right into his cradled hands.

Something I didn't know was rt evealed by Joe. He was wearing a slightly different jersey than the rest of the team. His wife packed the jersey he wore against the Dolphins in the 1985 SB so he wore it. The differences were so subtle that I doubt anyone noticed it. The stripes on the sleeve were a little broader. I wonder if the league would have fined him if they knew since they're so strict about stuff like that.

He also said that on the Dwight Clark catch the play was designed to go to Solomon but he fell down so Joe had to improvise. He lofted it high and thought it would go out of the end zone but because he threw off his back foot with 6' 9" Too Tall Jones bearing down on him he didn't get much on it. He didn't see the catch because Jones flattened him. With today's rules that probably would have been roughing the passer and the Niners would have had a fresh set of downs even if Clark hadn't caught the ball.

I was at all those home games back then but it's still nice to be reminded of what a true franchse QB looks like.

A good defense could have helped. Some of Purdy's problems were receivers not getting open and some of them not running routes consistently. Purdy will throw with anticipation of where a receiver is going to be and if they deviate it makes him look bad or off target. Is he the next Montana…….no, but he is still a top 10. JMHO

Sort of a good time for Brock to negotiate a contract the draft doesn't have what is considered a franchise QB and the FA's are not all that special either.

you gotta be able to look at what the QB is doing and not doing independent of the field goal kicker.

Not about to take away credit from Mahomes given what he's been able to accomplish in his career so far but key plays by his defense are absolutely part of why he's considered to be as great as he is.

lol

You can laugh all you want with your condescending garbage problem is you're wrong again.

Without those key defensive plays he doesn't win either of the SBs against us. You can argue he doesn't beat the Eagles in 2022 either.

As great as he's been without the SB wins to show for it he wouldn't be getting the GOAT talk at all.
Patriots defenses helped Brady,...49er defenses helped Montana.

I guess what you're trying to teach us is that football is a team sport?

What? No way lol
Its crazy all that he has so much help died down. Lamar has the same help and even better this year, Burrow still had Chase/Higgins. Allen had Cook and a great Oline. Thats just the AFC lol.... Purdy still played horrible at times this year, but is funny all this talk of him having avengers help died down...

I'd hate to be Flowers Bateman and Andrews. Likely is a damn good rz weapon too. Definitely a better weapon than Juice (they have the first team all pro fb too). Then theres Henry lol. That's the avengers if Brock is the qb

Lol putting Mahones down and acting like he isn't a great to prop up Purdy is really comical. We get it Purdy is the QB of your favorite team but my God man it's pathetic.

14 INT's called back since what 2023 or something like? If 10 of those stand, they could've changed his career. Shoot if the called holding in both of the Super Bowls he played the 9ers in could've changed his career. f**k Patrick Mahomes, most helped QB on the planet.
