True that, especially, after I saw what happened during the Bills game. Ridiculous lol..NFL clearly has a qb preference . Eagles penalty-palooza incoming.

I'm not rooting for either. We all know Mahomes and KC will 3peat.

I don't get the point in calling last season below average. He was above average by all the grading scales. Our team just sucks, regardless of his 900k contract

What metrics have him graded 7th in 2024?

I know qbr does. EPA per play I think he's ranked 7th amongst qb too. There's an adjusted one that bumps him up to 4th in 2024. If you click the show more it has more of his rankings. None of them below average

Great 49ers gift ideas

I guess what you're trying to teach us is that football is a team sport?

No s**t Sherlock. Maybe next time you come in to a conversation with your need to teach people a lesson you can start by reading the context you're responding to.

When someone claims you should look at what Mahomes is doing regardless of other parts of his team…bringing up how his defense is a critical part of his success is a logical part of the conversation.

As always you bring nothing to these conversations but an arrogance and need to correct people for no logical or actual reason.

Try and see if you can tone down the personal stuff. I know from your previous love affair with Jimmy how emotional you can be about your QB. But what about sticking to the topics instead of the extra stuff? It gets old to me, and I'd rather just discuss the topics, not how good or bad of a poster someone is.

Now that that's out the way...are you walking back a stupid comment? Here is what you originally said, not this new quote above:

I'll explain the sarcasm regarding Montana and Brady if it's over your head: Patrick Mahomes is not the first QB to have a defense that tries to get the ball back. Others have as well,...but it doesn't mean they're good or safe with the ball in their hands.

Saying that the defenses are a big part of the credit he gets is just a stupid thing to say. Horribly stupid suggestion,...lol. He still somehow got his 2nd ring with a total defense that was 21st in the NFL.

"Yea but....KC's defense has made critical plays." So what?? Any QB with SB rings has had his defense make critical plays,...so this isin't a one-off.

Our total defense was better yardage-wise than his this year, but you'd never know it by comparing the team records, and the main reason why would be the QBs. Yea, the QBs can help defenses out, too. It's a team game,...lol.

Not only is he a playmaker,...but he's only thrown an INT in 1 of his last 11 games,...none in the playoffs.

It's clear that the plays he makes over and over again are why he's considered to be as great as he is. No one considers Joe Flacco to be anything close to great due to the Ravens defense he had, do they?

But those "my team's QB" emotions run high, so I don't expect any logical retorts.

This is more like it. Although Purdy wasn't elite like last year, he was still easily top 7-10 especially considering his piss poor pass pro and weapons down.

Doesn't Mahomes have 3 pro bowl IOL??? That helps MORE than having elite weapons, especially when you don't have time to throw to them or they don't gain separation (like Purdy and other top 7 qbs had to deal with….see Stroud)

When calling other people out at least setup your post properly.

I call you out on your posts cuz all you do around here is battle other people on their takes and have no problem leaving out context in the process.

I said what I said about Mahomes because regardless of where his defense ranked his defense was the main reason he won both our SBs.

I don't care about other QBs. I'm talking about Mahomes. Chris Jones batting down the passes that he did in 2019 allowed Mahomes to win that game. Had Jones not missed one of those passes and 49ers win that game regardless of all the other stuff Mahomes did.

Had McDuffie not disguised his blitz as well as he did and knock down Brock's pass we pick up that first down, kill the clock and hit the game winning FG.

It's tough math but I'll help you out…that would leave Mahomes with just 1 SB vs 3 and now going for a three peat and his 4th overall.

Think he's looked at as the same level of player had he lost those SBs against us? No. That's not a knock on the guy that's reality of having a team around him…which was the reason for the original post. A reminder that as good as Mahomes is he didn't win every game scoring on every drive.

So save your lectures for someone else. Also ranking defenses by their yardage numbers is for losers. Especially when you can't look it up properly.

Putting you back on ignore cuz you have nothing of value to offer with your posts.

He's got 2 first team all pros in Thuney and Humphrey and Trey Smith is a pro bowler and I've seen guys in here claim he's got the worst tackle combo in the NFL which is a laughable take.

I'm not even taking anything away from Mahomes. I've had him as my #1 QB regardless of how poorly his stats looked compared to Lamar, Allen and Burrow this year but to act like he's out there without help is ridiculous.

His stats being down earlier this year should be a reminder to people that EVERY QB no matter how good needs help.

It doesn't mean Purdy is just like Mahomes. It just means Purdy is a better version of himself with talent around him. No different than how Mahomes is a better version of himself when he's got help around him. Brock isn't as good so his room for error is smaller and Mahomes with his talent can get more out of less.

It also doesn't mean that Brock needs every guy on his roster to be an all pro to win games.
I love it when everyone has everyone else on ignore.

Your love is like bad medicine.

What a great community.
