would you kindly answer my post about the tiers. i would say mid tier, do you put him in the mahomes tier? or josh allen tier? you tell me

So you went from mid tiers to Mahomes/Allen tier? Do you really want to be taken seriously?

I have Brock in the top 10.

If you care then here is how I have them

Elite: Mahomes, Allen, Lamar
Near Elite: Burrow
Tier 3: Stafford, Jayden Daniels
Tier 4: Herbert, Stroud
Tier 5: Mayfield, Purdy
Tier 6: Love, Hurts, Murray, Nix, Tua

I can see people putting some of those guys above Brock but that's where I have them ranked. I value a bigger track record, playoff play and intangibles.

Cousins and Rodgers I'm not ranking anymore and need to see more from Caleb Williams

PFF 2024:
1 Lamar Jackson
2 Joe Burrow
3 Josh Allen
4 Justin Herbert
5 Jayden Daniels
6 Patrick Mahomes
7 Baker Mayfield
8 Derek Carr
9 Geno Smith
10 Brock Purdy
11 Kyler Murray
12 Sam Darnold
13 C.J. Stroud
14 Russell Wilson
15 Jalen Hurts
16 Jared Goff

You serious, 2024 Derek Carr over Brock Purdy. Derek Carr had the worst season of his career in 2024. And Sam Darnold had a much better 2024 than Brock Purdy and Patrick Mahomes. I don't get this rankings. lol

They're the PFF overall QB grades rankings for last year.

There are lots of ways to grade or rank players. I don't know what metrics PFF uses but I knw that I don't agree with many of their rankings. In any case I wouldn't put Carr ahead of Purdy.

Yah this is a good example that PFF doesn't tell the whole story.

I agree they have flaws in their grading for sure and the fact that they don't share how they create their grades makes it hard to take them seriously.

I tend to use them more for their stats vs grades.

Also if we're looking at straight passing metrics on PFF, Brock is actually 14th overall.

Carr is higher because he played pretty well beginning of the yr and then was pretty much out the rest of the season. PFF had him down for like 600 snaps. If he got into that 1,000K+ snap count like most other QBs, I'm sure he would regress to the mean.

They talk about how they grade every position

Yes the KC, Buffalo and LA Rain games were the big reasons for his pass #s dropping...understandably so.

Sure wish PPF would say something like that in their rankings. Also Derek Carr hardly threw the ball that's why their rankings are flawed, they don't tell the whole story to each QB's season. Those rankings are trash.
I have no problem ranking Brock as a top 10 QB especially considering his performances over his 3 years starting

Good to know, I'll have to read through it. I do think when you have different people making decisions on when blame goes to a certain player without actually being in the locker room to know the specifics and assignments of the play it leads to grading deficiencies.

Yeah I don't know if it was just because of 3 games. Josh Allen had a 80.7 grade that game…Conversely you can say that Bears game inflated his passing score as well.

if he's gonna stink every time there's some inclement weather that's a problem.

overall if you collected his statics, analytics and looked at the film…it shows Brock overall wasn't playing ar that same level as in 23. For sure there's plenty of stuff that around him that affected his play (good/bad). IMO he seemed to force stuff a lot this yr, when it wasn't needed. I thought his mechanics overall took a step back, which lead to some inaccuracies. He wasn't reading and processing the field as quickly. And the lack of a true plus arm showed itself.

hopefully he gets back to what we know he can be. Down yr all around. Once he gets paid, the expectations are only gonna be higher though.

it's all there in their rankings. You can see the amount of snaps he had. You can see his passing grade, rushing grade, or whatever else a player did. Take off the snap min and Joe Milton was QB1 this yr lol.

The whole story is right there if you look…folks see the overall rankings, but neglect all the data that's right there. Theres nothing flawed overall people gotta stop being lazy when looking at it all.

Brock as a passer this yr was right around that 14th overall ranking imo. I mean Hurts is 26th as a passer according to them this yr. Brock was higher than Goff, Tua and Stafford. Not sure why people think he should have been higher?

They have said that their system isn't 100% because they don't know every play call…Of course there's a margin of error BUT from an analytical approach they're the best or the bunch. Theres a reason why the NFL uses them…They have multiple people watch the games and grade everything. Former coaches & players are part of the grading system as well.

look it's not the end all be all. Rankings will ALWAYS be a subjective thing. Fans are about as bias as it comes with that stuff. I like and pay for PFF because it does take some of that stuff out. It's not 100% , just another tool you can use when discussing/learning all this stuff 😉
