We've seen one snow game from Brock and it was following an injury to his throwing shoulder. I'd say it's overblown at minimum. He's 2-0 in the playoffs in rain games. There's guys out there whose play dips big time simply playing outdoors.

Either way it's not something that should make or break the deal with him.

I like Purdy....he goes through his progressions well and is a tough kid that is not afraid to take a hit. And I agree his rainy weather games alone should not make or break a deal, but all factors, including his rainy weather performance, should absolutely be part of the decision on how much to pay him.

Well, considering that one was a huge reason we got there and the other was just a passenger a 52 seat bus, I would say it does work that way.

It's not a bad thing and we shouldn't take it that way. I think what half the fan base is saying whoa your jets a little and lets watch this pan out another year or so while the other half is hell fork over $60m a year. He's the best since Young.

The smart move is option A. (settle on a lower shorter length contract). It's not like there won't be another contract later if he is the guy we think and hope.

There is a bit of mystique being the Mr Irrelevant and everyone wants that true fairy book ending but I think some are pushing that along before we really know.

There are a lot less people saying "fork over $60m a year" than there are people saying "don't extend him" or "give him $40m a year"

A lot of people(myself included) aren't even talking specific numbers, simply pointing out that Brock has been the best QB in many areas in a long time and is a great fit for the offense we have and the team would be smart to extend him now.

Personally I've said for months the actual APY conversations are dumb. All I care about are the details of the contract and used Jalen Hurts' deal as a comparable situation where the APY initially reported is nothing close to the cap hits he's going to realistically get. I expect something similar to Brock.

My main issue is people downplaying Brock's ability simply because they don't see him as the elite QB in the game. I don't either but I also don't care where he's ranked or how he stacks up vs those guys, I care about what he would do here in our offense.

Inconsistent in what? Can you be more specific?

Took us to the NFCCG as a rookie
Took us to the SB as a 2nd year player
Didnt make the playoffs year 3 while the whole team regressed around him save like 3-5 players.

Is that the inconsistency you're talking about? Or something in his game?

Thats where you lose me. Jimmy G never did what Brock did.

Brock put up numbers comparable to Jimmy's 2nd best season with injuries all over the place.

And no, not a lot of NFL QBs could've done that, considering with all those players we had a bottom 10 pass pro OL a big detriment to many QBs.

As amazing as Mahomes is you saw what happens to him when he's getting consistently pressured in both his SB losses.

This is what I'm talking about people downplaying what Purdy has done. When the whole team regresses and there are key injuries to top level players and the depth isn't there no QB would have great success. There may be some out there who would've had more success than Brock but none of those guys are taking that team to the playoffs.
