This is just a lie bro. $30-$40M a yr GTD is a helluva lot of money.
And u had just made a post that you're not getting caught up in the numbers aspect...you you really are squeezing every drop you can out of playing both sides.
Look: If everyone saying max him out @ $30M-$40M GTD is "WRONG",...then you owe all of them your own MAX number for Purdy in GTD yearly average. Let's hear it. There's just no 2 ways about it.
And let's not create false narratives. Maybe a random poster every few weeks says to not extend him. The overwhelming majority here is saying nothing of the sort,...as it can end up benefitting both parties if the numbers are right.
If you're going to use the quote feature then don't cut the quote down to what you want to respond to. You can bold the words and have the same effect.
And no I'm not playing both sides since I said nothing about GTD per year in my post, you cut up my post and still responded to something that wasn't there.
What I've been saying is the same consistently - the APY(average per year) thrown around are not indicative of what the cap hits would be and that's the part that would hurt the team from roster building.
Go through the posts if you want to argue and show me anyone who's adding the GTD part to their discussions. There is no such thing as GTD per year. The contracts have an APY number that gets thrown around and then outside the Watson contract the guaranteed money on the deal is much different than the overall contract worth described in the initial announcement of the deal.
You want to talk about false narratives but have no issue with people claiming that HALF the fanbase wants to fork over $60 mil for Brock. Notice how I didn't make the claim that most or half the fans don't want to extend him. If you're going to quote me then actually read what is said.

So like, $160 to $200 million GTD over 5 years?
That seems fair enough.

So then I guess it's settled 30 to 40 million a year and Brock will be happy with that? Brock won't be like the majority of every NFL player and want to reset the market or take a little below, he will be more than alright with accepting a well below market value for QB's at this time? Seems ok with me.

My guess is that we will see a contract near $50M per year, $300,000 over 6 years, with $225,000 guaranteed of which $150,000 is fully guaranteed. Roughly Josh Allen's contract minus 10%

$40 million GTD would probably be a $50 million+ per year contract.

If the 49ers pay Brock 70M APY, 100% guaranteed, and win Super Bowls, I'll be happy. Pay him the league minimum and fail to win Super Bowls, I'll be pretty upset.

His pay no reflection on performance. Either he is good or middle or great at $1m a year or $60m a year. If he ever purposely halted his performance he would be off the team.
Plus Jesus has told him to play well and always do your best.

Can't tell if your being sarcastic or not.
if you think he is going to take anything close to a below market deal this contract would be done. I didn't think he would be money focused either but here we are. We will find out once it's done.

I'm being sarcstic. Just seems everyone knows what he is going to take. And it doesn't bother me if he is money focused. 49ers will figure it out. I would rather pay Brock has to have paid all the past exhorbate contracts they have agreed to.

So what you're saying is if Brock wants $45,000,000.01 you'd say no?
Gotcha
